But how about TNew, TG, missing and Fergy only played a series or two. I thinks thats just as important and can't be overlooked...
you are right...I agree...but just call me a sucker for teams that can pressure the QB...especially without having to blitz. I just feel that is the name of the game....make the opposing QBs life miserable and you can go very far.

All that doesn't mean squat if they are giving up lot of points, nearly as much as the Cowboys, same for passing yards.

PPG Allowed: Giants 21.3, Cowboys 22.6

Passing Yards Allowed: Giants 206 yards, Cowboys 208

The Cowboys and the Giants are very comparable teams. When two such teams play each other, the difference is usually quarterback play; therefore, the real issue here is Romo versus Manning. I'll take the Cowboys. I guess I'm just sucker for Romo.

Are you a sucker for Jon Kitna? ;)

Moments ago, Mark Schlereth and James Hasty anointed the New York Giants the "third best team in the NFL behind New England and Indianapolis."

Allow me to incapsulate their logic. The Giants have the second-best record in the NFL at 5-2. Not only do both the Cowboys and Packers have better records at 6-1; both have beaten the Giants this year. Yet, the Giants are better, according to pundits at ESPN.

Furthermore, desite the Cowboys' penchant for bludgeoning and eviscerating opponents this year, ESPN is quick to remind us how soft Dallas schedule has been. Yet, for some reason, this same argument doesn't apply to the Giants. They've beaten dregs such Falcons, Niners, and Jets, but ESPN can't seem to give enough commentary on their dominance.

Here's to a Dolphin victory in England!

I doubt very seriously the Fins will beat the NYG

I dont see why everytime somebody props up another team, tons of people get upset about it...we played poorly against Buffalo and Minnesota and easily could have lost either or both of those games...you cant expect people to be impressed by those kinds of wins

The Giants are playing very well...sure they have beat up on a mostly bad schedule (though they have beaten Philly and Washington), but they beat the bad teams they've played recently pretty soundly, whereas we did not...and their defense is just killing QB's now...their OL has gotta be one of the most underrated units in the league

I have no problem with it...when we start playing solid football and winning the way good teams do, we'll get more respect...we'll also get tons of respect if we go 4-1 or 5-0 in November

Who's upset about it? I'm merely posting news relevant to the Cowboys during a slow bye week.

How do good teams win? Every single Cowboy victory with the notable exception of Buffalo has been by a two score margin. The Giants beat the lowly Dilfer-led Niner by 17 points and gained 24 points off turnovers.

Dallas will be 8-1 in three weeks and the Giants will fall to 5-4, I have a good feeling about the Dolphins. Four TDs against the Patriots is enough to beat New York.

we didnt play poorly against minnesota at all. The two fumbles kept it from being a rout.

and give minnesota credit, they are better than people give them credit for.

oh and here is a little prediction by the end of the season our win in Buffalo will look better and better, they are a solid team. I bet they get 8 or 9 wins.

The Giants maybe one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Their DL is just dominating everything in the way even though it has been weaker opponents thus far.

I think the Giants game in NY is a huge game and it has me a little spooked. They seem to be playing lights out right now.

Don't think you can say they are better then the teams that have beaten them but I think the reason these guys can make a case is because of how poorly the Pack and Boys have looked in the last couple of weeks while the Giants have been on a pretty good roll.

Be a huge game in New York. I think that Game goes a long ways in deciding the Division winner.

Dumb. Just stupid. The Giants are "dominant" against the 49ers O, which if you may have noticed is ranked 30 to 32 in EVERY offensive stat makes them better than the Cowboys or make their wins better than the Cowboys'. Just because someone on ESPN says it does not make it true.

The Cowboys went into last week facing what is one of the top 5 D's in the NFL. With no O, the Cowboys played it safe on offense and won (covering the spread) even though they turned the ball over on the door step of scoring a TD and again giving up half the Vikes points.

I think Schlereth's major issue is his ego...

He pretends to act horrified when his daughter does near nude scenes on TV... then tries to act humble when he is cast in a soap. He obviously considers himself a "hottie"...

It's obvious he does no homework in his analysis. He is the biggest idiot on TV in regards to his knowledge of the NFL. If he saw my post he would likely challenge me to a fight to prove he is right...

He is the worst thing on TV outside of Skip Bayless... bar none...

He makes Jim Rhome look like a Rhodes Scholar...

Folks, that ain't easy to do...

I think Schlereth's excessive use of hair gel is seeping into his brain via osmosis and destroying what little remains of its synaptical connections.

there is a comedian by the name of demetri martin (funny guy) one of his jokes are "i believe hair gel was created to make it easier to idenfity a _ _ holes in person" seems to fit Mark

I don't know why all of these commentators have to have three tiers, but the way I see it the Patriots and Indy are in the top tier followed closely by the Cowboys who have their own tier. Then come the Commanders, Giants, Packers, and a couple of others. The bottom tier is the Eagles, Rams, Dolphins, etc.

Sports analysts have a short attention span.

If you look at the past 2-3 weeks (and only at the past 2-3 weeks), the Giants have looked quite impressive.

The Power Rankings are on a week by week basis. They are asked to say which team is better at that specific point in the season. Dallas has looked sketch the past 3 weeks now. We barely escaped Buffalo, plus we had something like 6 turnovers in that game. That was followed by a pretty bad loss to New England. We were in the lead at one point, but our D definitely could not stop them and most analysts rated us based on a revamped D. Finally, we played only ok against Minnesota. Winning by two scores against such a poorly coached team isn't much to brag out.

Meanwhile, the Giants have been on a little roll and seem to be taking care of business. Their D is playing really well and if we don't escape Buffalo, we would have the same record as them. I don't think it's shocking to be ranked below them right now. If we beat them at Giants Stadium, the rankings will be back in our favor. We just gotta take care of business by winning.

We can't have sketchy performances and then expect the world to praise us. We need more games like the one versus Miami and less like the ones that we've been playing the last 3 weeks in order to gain respect.

Here's the REAL problem ... you're watching ESPN! Nothing good can come of that.

Step ... away ... from the remote.

Personally, I like the fact that the analysts are continuing to underestimate our team. IMO, flying under the radar without all the media hype keeps a team hungry and wanting to prove something. It also keeps them grounded and focused.
