They couldn't have been watching him. Unless they watch ever Detriot game of the season in hopes of catching the 2 of the 16 he bothers to show up and play in.

Yup, same thing things were said about Leonard Davis last year especially after the contact JJ signed him to. A lot of short-term memory, revisionist history going on here.....sjordan6;1932303 said:Remember you guys was saying the same thing about Leonard Davis and see how it turned out. Going from a losing culture to a premier franchise could do wonders for a player and the team. I actually think he would be better at nose than both Ratliff and Fergie. The guy playing weight is 340. HUGE!
That's the problem that Fantasy Football has caused real Football fans.windward;1932394 said:I know, this is not the NBA or MLB where we see six, seven, eight player trades.

That is the most idiotic trade idea I've seen yet. Yeah, sure, lets give up Johnson who we've got for peanuts in place of a guy whose only going to play if he has a HUGE contract.
Rogers will not be playing in Dallas. He's extremely talented but he's extremely lazy, has zero work ethic, and doesn't care in the least about actually being a dominate DT.
Roy Williams might wind up in Dalls but Shaun Rogers will not.
Not that I am in favor of picking up Rogers but in point of fact if we traded for him we would not pick up the signing bonus portion of the cap hit; that would remain with Detroit and it will cost them a 9 mil cap hit to get rid of him before June 1 or it will cost them 4.5 this year and another 4.5 next year after June 1. When you trade for a player all you pick up is his salary and any remaining roster bonuses that he might have coming...not the signing bonus.Sandyf;1932785 said:I agree with that trade except for Tank Johnson, I don't think we trade him. But the trade would only include Roy E. Williams and not Rogers. Rogers salary for the next 3 years is 4.25 Mil, 5.5 mil, and 7.25 mil, that isn't cap charge that is just salary. His cap charge is 7 mil in 2008. He signed a 46 mil contract that included 15 mil in bonus (3 mil per year of the 5 year contract).
No way Detroit is going to pay the roster bonus of 1 mil on March 1st, then his cap number would be 8.25 mil in 2008. If Detroit releases him, they will take a 4 mil hit to the cap if the number by the Free Press are right.
Bet is they release him by Feb 29th. I just wouldn't even attempt to renegotiate a bad contract with him. He is 29, overweight, has stamina problems but I would sign him to an incentive contract and see if we could reabilitate him which I believe we could. He would be a very nice rotation with Tank Johnson and move Ratliff to DE to replace Spears.
One thing to consider is that Detroit wants defense and a true LT and if Flo hits the market they are said to be willing to give him whatever he wants. Seems like we should sign Flo or franchise him and make a better trade.
