That second to last play showed some really nice burst.

Went back and watched his snaps.

I was kinda shocked. On limited snaps his production was extremely impressive. This is gonna sound a little weird but he looks like a mixture of DLaw with an added dash of Micah in their respective rookie debuts.

Dlaw was slow to come on as a rusher but played the run well. Micah was an excellent rusher from Lb and edge but struggled when they run at him. Kneeland seems to be as good against the run as Dlaw was, but has more juice (not quite Micah’s level) in his pass rush. I think this might be one of the most underrated hits in the draft by end of season.
Good stuff. Kneeland was my favorite pick, and that's from a draft that I loved. He'll most likely never get those gaudy sack totals, but he is a game changer along the lines of Tony Tolbert, or Antonio Smith(the assassin). They do the little things that make a D uber effective. And disrupt the pocket to a monstrous degree.

After the draft I read where he was to be DLaw's backup and eventual replacement. Hence, the resemblance in his style.

However, once Sam Williams went down, now will be relied upon even more. And is off to a good start.

Hopefully the rotation holds up, and can preserve his stamina as not to hit that rookie wall with the longer season. They still need to have a plan for Micah in that as well even though his 4th year.
MIcah played all over the D last game, which is one of the things Kneeland will provide, to get Micah from having to play hands in the dirt DE every play. That reduces his effectiveness.

Micah is a gazelle, he was born to run. Use him as Zimm did last game, and he won't wear out. Running isn't what gets to him.

Doesn't remind me of D-Law or Parsons. He plays like a late, great HOF'er from the Eagles and Packers.
Also, the Calais Campbell comparison is a good one, too.

DLaw was a terrific passrusher when he was young I don't really get your point. He was never explosive enough to bend and capture the edge consistently, espeically later, and that's true for Kneeland.
D-Law was a terrific pass rusher coming into the draft, you are right.
And, He absolutely had that bend coming out of college. That trait is the reason we drafted him where we did.
I don't think Kneeland and Lawrence's college tape are very similar at all.

No no no. Why does everyone want to move DE's to DT? Have we not seen how bad that is with guys that are too small? Do what you want with him on passing downs because position doesn't really matter nowadays, but he is 267 lbs and he is a perfect Strong side DE in the NFL.
Exactly, we need DEs that can tackle, and Kneeland looks like he can potentially rush as well, so yes Kneeland is like a better version of Tony Tolbert IMHO.

This pleases me.

Please start him opposite Dlaw and move Micah back to LB or run a 34 type and always rush Micah but get kneeland on the field

He's nothing like Micah because he's not going to bend around the edge but he's very similar to late-career DLaw.

His ability to turn play strength into passrush was pretty impressive and surprising.
Dlaw seems to be a real comparison. Dlaw is more power than speed type. If he can be another Dlaw then he’s a steal

An easier way to get him more snaps is slide Dlaw inside some. Golston played way too many snaps last week so slide Dlaw in there some. He played inside some the last few years already

Coog, I agree with the point you are making. Anyone can do this for one game. They are all professional football players. Let's see this type of high performance be sustained over a full season. That would be impressive. Show up in the playoffs with that juice!
Post of the morning Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guarantee that alignment is coming, there are 50 in the book, and we have only shown 3.
