Martellus Bennett

Despite a couple drops he is 13 receptions for 19 targets for a very dependable 68 percent completion rating, up from his 15 receptions for 30 targets the year before. 2 more receptions and he'll match his total for the entire year last year.

I think he is doing what he needs to do to become a bigger factor later in the year. If he was dropping a lot of balls and wasn't running the right routes, Romo doesn't look for him now and in the future. He may not be making highlight reel plays, but he is putting down the building blocks on a solid season. Amazing, most fans complain about him not being involved at all, and now that he is, it's isn't good enough.

I wonder what we would be saying about Marty if Phillips were still healthy.

Overall, he's had a good year and is becoming a much more reliable receiver. Unfortunately, he didn't have a good game against the Titans.

I'd take John Phillips over Marty B any day of the week.

for an athletic freak he just doesn't seem to be that athletic.

I think he is having a good year. Despite the two interceptions on passes to him, I think he is having a pretty good year. He is obviously working to get better. If he had come down with that touchdown, we're at a completely different place, and thats what I keep in mind.

It just didn't work out for us like that, but I think MartyB is going to be a key for us down the stretch.

Even on that interception in our own redzone, you saw MartyB do something I only see Ware do. He wen't straight for the strip because he knew what that turnover meant, and probably blamed him self for sitting back on that route.

Bennett is having a good year. And he's doing it on what is apparently a pretty bad ankle injury. He's showing alot of toughness.

I dont blame him at all for either of those picks last week. One was tipped before he ever got a chance at it, the other should have never been thrown by our QB. He had almost no chance to complete that pass.

My guess is that he would be at the top of the list when discussing trades, along with Barber.

I would love to see him break out, but I dont think its going to happen.

I think alot of teams would kill to have Marty B as there tight end, let alone second or maybe in the Cowboys' case third TE. The anount of venom spewed his way is kind of laughable, when there are far bigger problems on this team than him.

I thought the same thing. I love Romo, but he shouldn't have thrown that pass. At least Romo can sleep well at night to know that fans hate MartyB more than him.

I think all in all, Martellus has played pretty well. At the very least he's seemed to have improved from last year.

On that tough pass that clanked off his hands for the tipped interception, I had to laugh when the announcers said that Jason Witten would have made that catch.

I love Witten like every Cowboy fan, but if the ball isn't within the radius of his arm span, Witten ain't leaving his feet to get it, lol.

Why just him, and not everyone else? Both Witten and Austin have had key drops this year. If Bennett was 100% on all catches this year, Dallas is still 1-3.

Alot of hand wringing over the backup TE.

That's subjective to interpretation because if Marty caught that ball for a TD we could have eventually won that game. Nonetheless I'm not saying that its all Martys fault for the lost, and I will point the blame at someone if they deserve it. I just think he is getting too much credit for the game he played and I think he still hasn't played up to his abilities.

As for that INT in the endzone I still think he could have caught that ball. If that was Roy Williams everyone would be cursing Roy. Yet when its Marty, a lot of folks here seems to be giving him a pass and even stated his been doing good.

All I see he still has a lot to prove given that he is talented. He has dropped quite a bit of passes during crucial moments yet people give him a passing grade. I honestly don't think so just yet until he really shows he can hold onto the ball and make those crucial plays. Thats what I want to see out of him.

lol @ the outright dislike of Galian Beast despite some pretty good observations.

lol @ u trying to stir an empty pot.

He should have caught the 1st deflected INT, if you want to become an elite TE you should make those plays.
