How many super bowls have those other teams won other then NE?

PS. Not many. That's why NE is still the gold standard and worth emulating.
The point of my post flew way over your head. NE was in a spot that no other team has ever really found themselves in before. Look at them now.

The Cowboys need to get younger and obviously not hand out large Re sign contracts to players in their 30’s getting dinged up.

A team like Wash thinking it’s close next season might want to sure up its OL with a Martin on a one yr deal . Dallas in a different direction with a different roster , youth.

Both are pros pros. Every good/great team needs players like them in their locker room. Martin is a HOF player and DLaw has been a good to very good player for his career.

They won't be back in Dallas next season. I wish them both the best no matter what their next move will be. DLaw has expressed that he is definitely playing next season. We will see about Martin.

You can also find great rbs in mid rounds. Mid rounds are always the go to around here, but more often than not those guys aren't anything special. Dlaw has been really good for a long time. Good luck replacing him with a mid round pick.
he was a 2nd round pick, that to me didn't play like a 2nd round pick. he wasn't anything special. he could have easily been a 3rd round pick. he was way way way over paid for what he produced. his career earling in dallas is $127M. Now I am sure people are going to bring up Dak ( I just gave permission LOL), he is still top 15 in average salary although he signed his contract 3 years ago. at the time it was a top 6 salary. was he a top 6 player?

he is good, but not deserving of the contracts he got

These guys careers were robbed of winning a ring. Both of these guys should play one more year. But they should both take the D-Ware approach and go find teams who need them and are close to winning it all.

I know Tank isn’t admired around here a ton. But up until his “we were tired” comments last year, he was always really good for us. He’s an elite run stopper and can still contribute at a high level.

Martin should heal up and give it one more go. Go somewhere where he could help the young guys and make a difference when someone gos down before playoff time.

I could see both these guys going to a team like Detroit, KC, Baltimore, or SF and really helping them get to the big one.

I think lumping Tank into the same list with Martin is wrong.

Martin is a first ballot hall of famer.

Tank was a good solid player. Not a hall of famer. Not elite. Lots of guys like that across the league who never win a Super Bowl.

New England always got rid of players a year early as compared to a year late. Worked well for them. We have always chosen the year late path and paid dearly for it.

Yes and no.

Would you rather get rid of a player a little too early than a little too late? Sure.

But it’s also situational. It depends on the player, team and the prices around them.

I think the evidence shows that New Englands success was primarily driven by Tom Brady. They could get away with less at other positions because Brady was incredible.

Lol! Theit careers were robbed? Like everyone retires with a ring. I think they'll be OK with the millions of dollars they have earned....
Agreed. I hate this take from people. Like Dallas is the only team where an elite player does not with a ring lol

I think Martin is going to retire after this season and begin his journey to Canton. He's had a remarkable career, but his body is failing.

DLaw's got another year or two left in him. I would prefer he go to a contender and go win something big, but he will probably wrap things up here in Dallas.

Two more great players and careers to add to those that Jerry Jones has wasted.

No one was robbed. they voluntarily signed to stay here in the circus. Also Tank and his overpaid deal isn't anything to brag about.

Both guys had nice careers. I think the gas tank is running on fumes.

Both these players had to know for several years that they are not winning anything with franchise being led by Dak

Yet they chose to stay for the money

Now you get to enjoy the money but no post season success

DLaw was a winning player. Watch any Cowboys playoff meltdown you can stand to rewatch... he's usually the only defender playing well.

Martin will retire. Next stop HOF.

DLaw will be a Cowboy for his last rodeo next year. He is needed and can still play well.
Needed for what did one of our Waterboys quit?
Man, please when and if he's not injured he only produces against dog offlines and QB....and what 3 sacks a season for all that cash he getting???
Cut him NOW if we could let the rook play.

That’s because for a while, the team would extend contracts and front load bonus money to cleanup cap space.
