Matt Cassel surprised to be benched in Cowboys' loss, says he'll prepare to play against Bills

I think there is a good chance he has played himself out of the league. It will not surprise me if no team even wants him as a backup next year.

I see these types of posts and I'm always amazed at how fans over estimate the number of people that can play QB in the NFL.

People were saying the EXACT same thing about Weeden a few weeks ago. When we released him, he was scooped up IMMEDIATELY.

If Matt Cassel wants to keep playing, he'll find a team.

I certainly didn't watch much Patriot football that year Brady was hurt, but how does someone fall this far from quarterbacking a team to 11-5?? He looks like a division III rookie out there

If he's surprised then that is part of his problem. If he doesn't want to admit it to the press then whatever but his play is awful. I'm not prone to hyperbole or generalizations but awful fits perfectly.

His passes continue to be inaccurate and mistimed. He has no field presence evidenced by multiple instances of pure panic and wild throws. Intentional groundings capped off by that horrific play where he not only takes a sack when he was outside the pocket but he also takes 10 more yards in reverse.

He clearly has no idea how to read the defense which became very obvious when Moore consistently started finding those open receivers in the middle of the field. Wow Beasley is on the team? Amazing.

time to give Matt a sobriety check. You can't mask scotch with mouthwash.
