Cassel a backup QB at the start of the season is playing better than most NFL teams starting QB. Some clubs just know how to found backup talent.
One of our weakness that has made a difference in our season record.

He's developed as the season has progressed. It was the popular opinion that Cassel sucked out loud prior to this call to service.

Yes he did. He was awful in Pre-season and pretty awful at begining of the season. Last 4 games or so, he seems to have picked up a lot. Won't matter though. Unless they go against an AFC West team in playoffs, if they win the division, which seems not a good bet right now, with Jets surging, they will be one and done.

wow mods...you ain't moved this yet?

what the hell?

If the Pats really wanted to turn the league upside down, I'd love to see them put Brady on the trade market.

Would be interesting to see how much teams would over-pay for him. Would make the Hershall trade look like nothing.

Cassell has come on during the season but his first few games he was less than lights out.

On another note, all those great players and coaches Parcells fleeced us out of really looked great today didnt they?

So who is going to sign Cassell in the offseason and how much are they going to pay?

backup QB should be our #1 priority going into the offseason. You all saw what life is like without Romo.

he's been average to below average this year. he has had 2 good games in a row, with 51 and 43 pass attempts(you get yardage when you throw that much, like brees). all the sudden he's the next tom brady?

Its the system he's playing in. Just like Schaub and any other backup qb who ended up starting and sucking. We'll see next season when Cassell signs to start for another team.

It kind of sucks for the Patriots that this guy got this exposure in his contract year. If he would have done this last year, I could see a team giving up at least a 2nd for him.

Dallas should have kept Bartel.

No. Bartel is nothing.

Cassell the kind of guy that teams should focus on late rounds and UFA. He was a backup at USC b/c he was behind Palmer and Leinart. The backup at a program like that could be the in guy lots of places. Instead he sits and learns a ton.

We hit on Romo and, if we choose to develop someone, need a guy from a big time program - guys like Bartel need a ton of reps. Guys from big programs don't b/c they've been taught right (note how Romo had about a million preseason plays).

I'm quite curious how much Cassell is going to wind up signing for as a starter next year.

Romo was like a 4 year starter at a small school which helped a lot playing time

Ask Packer fans how they feel about trading their QB. Brady's WAY better than Brett! If I were running a team like Kansas City or Chicago i'd be all over it!

Cassel is starting and playing quite well. Meanwhile the guys he backed up all through college. They are not doing so well. :lmao2:

The only one I really wanted to keep was Ferguson so he could do a rotation with Rat. He would also let us play Rat some at DE.
