Not so sure about that Kitna has been a solid backup most his career and a starter (mediocre one) small school
Mccown of the Dolphins was small scholl + big school he is a hybrid
Delhoume was a backup and converted himself into a starter and beat US as the backup QB in New Orleans
There are more out there but funny that how well the little guy does sometimes. Maybe it is because they have more to prove everyday in the NFL because of the Bias that you have shown just like the NFL has done in the past.
Last I looked very few Division 1a schools really teach good football all the way around. In fact a lot of large schools have went to these gmick offenses that do not help teach the QB and they have to relearn everything and struggle.
What you do is look for a guy you think can be developed into a starter over time no matter which school big or small draft them and teach them than use it for a draft pick.
