Indianapolis Colts Defense Rankings:
  • 236.3 yds/game (1st)
  • 14 pts/game (1st)
  • 7 interceptions (1st)
The Colts D has allowed 56 pts total in four games. We allowed 49 pts just yesterday.

This is turning into Sean Payton all over again. He'll probably be a head coach next season.

He would have been a great option this year. I was told he was coming in to be interviewed and then they never talked to anyone else after the day mccarthy came in.

The year before he left, the Cowboys rejected him from seeking an job interview with the 49ers.
He rejected an extension after the 2016 13-3 season.
The year he left, Rod was willing to "step aside"/above or something to make him DC. But then you have two chefs in the kitchen and only one stove.

No one should really be surprised by this. I think when he left everyone knew it was a blow to this team.

What hurts is we could have easily transitioned Marinelli to an advisory position to give eberflus a promotion to stay.

Firing MM and hiring Eberflus after this season would be a good move. So Jerry won’t do it.
I would fire NOLAN AND MM TODAY. Not kidding. Elevate Jim Tomsula or Edwards for the rest of the year and lets see what happens. SOMETHING has to spark this defense.

Yep. JJ let MM pick his own staff and he hired nolan because he was his friend that gave MM a job a long time ago. He hasn’t had a good defense since he had a great MLB ray lewis and players. He needs to go. Really pretty simple. We have players across the front that should be playing better. And watching it yesterday I think the players have given up on nolan already. They didn’t even try. That last end around with obj the defense should have been all over him after Aldon made him go backwards. It was sickening. We had a chance at that point in the game. We are toast.

You can blame McCarthy and Nolan for this teams problems but they are merely using what the GM and Owner have given them - basically a team that has no defense.

THAT part is true, they inherited a mess on defense. THESE are the former regimes players. With a couple exceptions. But to be THIS bad, is unacceptable. This is still the NFL, which stands for NOT FOR LONG. Its a results based business.FIRST, I would play a ton of press/man to man coverage. LOTS of nickel. Diggs isnt ready to play corner..its evident. START HIM AT SAFETY NEXT TO DONNY WILSON. Bench the garbage known as Thompson and Woods. We need wholesale changes on defense TODAY.

Eberflus wanted out ASAP folks. He knew JG was a snake and this team wasn’t going anywhere. They never put any resources into the D.

Word was that they even offered to give him Marinelli's honorary 'defensive coordinator' title in an effort to keep him around. And even when Josh McDaniels backed out of the Colts head coach deal, he still didn't want to come back to the Cowboys. That says a lot.
