There are relatively few football players in the world each year that are good enough to get signed by an NFL team. When one of them gets signed by the Cowboys and doesn't make the starting roster, due to injuries or for whatever reason, the members of the CZ trash said player from now on. I wonder how many people on this forum even played football in high school or college. I have feeling most posters woudnt make a pimple on Matt Johnson's butt when it comes to actually playing the game.

No they wouldn't. Some just want to troll and ridicule real players who actually got drafted, while trying to accomplish "likes" or some such to show their football savvy and experience from the couch.

Except that's not what happened. The Cowboys brought in Tyron Smith in the 2011 draft. They made the decision to churn Gurode that same year, and promoted Costa. Next offseason they brought in Callahan (a move you mocked at the time), then came the other two stop-gaps at OG in 2012, then Frederick in 2013 and Martin in 2014. 2011, you'll remember, was Garrett's first offseason as Head Coach. They didn't reverse course, they systematically built the OL by plugging in players they thought had a shot to develop, signing inexpensive VFAs, and then devoting draft resources. They just did it all while you were complaining about it and you somehow didn't notice.

For the record, if this season's an indication of anything, you didn't really become all that much of a better fan for witnessing it, either.

And that, my friends, is a ***** slap executed with nearly flawless form.

Still don't understand mocking a dude with potential who wanted to play but couldn't stay healthy enough to ever get his shot. What's the funny part again?

I like that hes still a Cowboys fan and showed alot of gratitude towards the organization. He got payed well and he should but nonetheless. Seems like a good dude, unfortunately not everybody's body is cut out for the nfl.

The players on the cowboys become characters for us to discuss and entertain ourselves. You have your cripples, your studs, your goofs, your leaders etc.

Similar to how your group of friends There's the joker, the leader, the poor kid etc

wow, this whole thread kind of got me thinking. I've made fun of Matt Johnson before and kind of feel bad about now that Idgit called me out. Well he didn't call me out directly but all the people that make fun of Matt Johnson got called out which I'm in that group. I was thinking that on every team you got the players that get he most publicity. Like for us it's Romo, Dak, Zeke, Dez, etc. These guys do interviews and you get a glimpse of their personalities and it's easy for me to see them as people. Now the bottom roster guys are almost strangers wearing a shirt. These are the guys that are easy to make fun of because they're practically strangers to us and we don't know their particular stories as well as we do the guys that get interviewed. Like Matt Johnson can have the same passion for the game as Dez but Dez gets interviewed and we can see that passion but Matt Johnson only gets written about because of his injuries. I'm going to start reminding myself that every player that comes through has a dream and passion and I'm going to work on my sensitivity when I get frustrated with players. They're human and they have feelings, and hearing that rob Petiti's dad read this board makes me think tat the player's families could be hurt by what is being said. That's not cool.

That's a really interesting point re how coverage affects our willingness to slam a player. Now you've got me thinking about it.

He does seem like one of those hard working guys who just wants to play. The team did sort of bend backwards for him, given his many issues, he ought to be appreciative, as you say. But then he could also have Jesse Holley'd it, instead, I guess.

Unlikely. But if you ask him, then he's just going to reply and then we all might accidentally read it.

From the same mind that proudly came up with "I never claimed I had any proof; I have insufficient evidence!"

The fact you still don't understand the difference between 'evidence of something' and 'proof of something' with the whole internet at your disposal is not the dig at me you seem to think it is.

Lol, going down with the ship I see...

Let me throw you a lifeline; you provided neither "evidence of something" nor "proof of something" but keep gasping for air.

As much as I like watching you completely embarrass yourself over not understanding the distinction between two words, this thread is not about that thread, so let's keep this one on topic.
