Theory and practice are two different things.

Consistency does work. Look at the success Holmgren, Reid, Belichick, Cowher, Fox Dungy et al have had

He did consistently draft wide recievers in the first round when he had 15 other holes to fill.

That was a completely different era.

Plus Pittsburgh had perhaps the most poorly run franchise in history at the time and Coach Landry had an expansion team.

Please stop trying to imply it has complete relevance.

The point was whether or not consistency was good for a team. I agree with that notion. Nothing more nothing less.
