If he means consistency at an organizational level, he does have a point. I do believe that those who maintain a certain philosophy about looking for certain types of players to fit their offense and defense over time will be successful with good coaches and schemes. Unfortunately, the FO/public tend to be very impatient which causes lots of panic.

I think the other thing that sometimes hurts is FA. Now you can find your players and someone can steal them from you four years later making the search for new, cheap talent to fill the vacancies difficult and unpredictable.

Overall, I will propose the quality of play was much better before FA hit. I still believe the players should have some rights to mobility but the current system of a hard cap has its drawbacks and one of those drawbacks is the overall quality of the league.

I think Arnold was on steroids. Have you seen him lately?
He admitted that he was on steroids during a 60 minutes interview in the late 70's/early 80's.

Hmmmm...

Millen: consistency is critical even in the face of demonstrated mediocrity

JJ: consistency is critical even in the face of demonstrated mediocity

Sounds like they went to the same GM school.
The School of Self Delusion.

Ya think?

didn't say. guess you gotta hire him as a GM to find out

I'd rather not draft 4 WRs in the 1st round 4 years in a row.

There needs to be a disclaimer shown on the bottom on the screen on NBC whenever Millen 'analyzes' anything. Just to remind the people at home that Millen put together the first 0-16 team in history and his opinions are completely and totally irrelevant.

I'm glad he didn't say he believed in continuity.........because this team is consistant. Consistantly under achieving.

If he had mentioned continuity, I would have been concerned that Jerry had been taking advice from Millen.

consistency is only good if it is positive. if you have negative consistency, then it is not good at all.

Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders, LA Clippers, etc....have been very consistent, at losing. The Cardinals seem to have turned things around this year, but overall, they are constant losers.

Also, the Cowboys have been consistent for the past 12-13 years. They have consistently missed the playoffs or lost in their 1st playoff game. This kind of consistency blows. We need some of that Landry consistency....20 years with a winning record and numerous playoff wins.
