Quite honestly, I am not all that interested in what Garrett's prototype QB is. It is not like he has a shining track record picking out backups let alone college prospects.

The scouts are the ones who need to have the most input into it.

Well, tell me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that I am. The HC gives directions to his OC and DC as well as the scouts. Basically he says to the GM and this is my Idea/picture or however he puts it, of a winning team and he goes and hires the assistants that will help him build that team and he and his assistants tell the scouts what they are looking for in a player and once they find those players they come back to the HC, OC, and the DC, and if they all agree they then take that to the GM who then talks with the agents and owner, and they go from there.
Would you agree as to that is how it goes, or close to how it goes?

Thank you, you are right on the money. About Lynch, There are some in this forum that refuse to see that or just flat out don't know, they see size the physical abilities and they are like addicts, "let's get that guy". The number one thing you want from your QB is intelligence, actually you want that from all of your key position players, really all of your players if you can draft or sign them. That is how Jimmy drafted and that is how Belichek drafts and signs, smart players. I know you will not be able get a whole roster of those type of players but at least try.

We are not privy to that info yet, he has yet to take the wonderlic test and do any interviews.now Goff went to Cal so he has to be a but smarter than the average football player.

I do not put much stock in the wonderlic. There have been many players that has not done well on that has had excellent careers

I'd rather have Wentz than Lynch. He has similar physical traits and is highly intelligent. Lynch's issue is that he needs time to development and we might not be the best organization to development a young QB. I think Wentz is smart enough (like Romo) to develop despite the mediocre leadership around him.

From what I have read about this guy since hearing about him, He may skyrocket by everyone, I like what I have read, never heard about him until this past weekend. I say if we can get him let's do it, or go with Kevin Hogan

Frankly, I think he just over simplified it. The key qb attributes are accuracy and ability to read defenses (which would be where intelligence factors). There are plenty of physically superior players who washed out rather quickly because they didn't have those two more important attributes.

After doing a little scouting myself and watching some of their games, I would take Goff every day of the week and twice on Sunday over Lynch.

The accuracy and ball placement Goff has is outstanding!!!

As others have said, I have very little faith in this coaching staff to develop any QB based on what I saw this year, so drafting a guy that "needs some work" is a non-starter for me. I know I can plug Goff in if Romo goes down and he can at least hit the receivers in the hands or throw to the spot where the receiver is supposed to be.
