not sure if anyone has ever mentioned him on here or not. But if the Romo thing doesnt work out for the rest of the season i think we have to take a shot at him in the offseason. He is a young QB (25) and showed a lot of potential in the little game action he has seen. Obviously Vick isnt going anywhere so the Falcons can afford to give him up. He was being shopped for a 1st round pick this offseason, would anybody else be willing to give a 1st rounder for Schaub? In my opinion he is easly the best QB available and we cant continue to wait for a project QB. Personally I think its either next year or rebuild conmpletely...again.

Not to mention he is the most overhyped backup, who hasn't won squat when he comes into play. He is the kind of guy, who looks good throwing etc, but the at the end of day, your team still loses more often than win, much like Billy Volek was.

Maybe but he has a 49.3 completion percentage. Thats not good no matter how you look at it

Why spend a first round draft pick on a backup QB, when odds are we will be in a pretty good position to draft a QB in the first round.

I'd be HAPPY to give up a first for Schaub... and i'd do it w/ a BIG *** smile on my face.

and then i'd say "THANK YOU!!!" Atlanta....

What happened to Volek, anyway? Wasn't he supposed to be pretty good, just waiting for McNair to go?

I wouldn't give up a #1 for Schaub. But he is a better QB than Vick IMO. But that's not saying much.

Volek is decent.

mid 80's QB rating
2 to 1 ratio TD's to Ints
60% completion percentage
BUT he IS 30 years old.
and also i dont know much else about him. Is he a competetor?

If we're giving up a first, I'd rather have a shot at Brady Quinn. This guy seems to have the "luck" that Staubach had and Craig Morton didn't; that Joe Montana had and Danny White didn't. I like Schaub snf hr would be my choice if Atlanta is willing to take a 2nd or even better, a 3rd for him...

He's bald, beautiful, and wears #8--not unlike a certain guy in Seattle. If he's up for bid, the Hawks will definitely get a #1 for him, and probably more. After Quinn, the QB landscape is desolate, therefore driving up Schaub's price.

We'd be giving up a he!! of alot more than a first to get Quinn.

Brohm >>> Quinn and Schaub...

I think us drafting Quinn is a pipe dream at the moment. Not sure why so many people are talking about it, because as of right now it aint happening...

I'd rather us burn a first and second pick to get into position to draft a top prospect than try to pick up another QB from the value bin.

couple of things:

1) he will be a RFA, meaning the Falcons can qualify for relatively cheap (for a QB anyway) and guarantee themselves a 1st and 3rd rd pick for him shoudl soembody want to sign him

2) unless he gets extensive playing time because the Falcons RB, err QB gets hurt, nobody will know anything more about him than a guy coming in through the draft...other than preseason he has hardly played, and when he has played in regular season games for the most part its been unimpressive...he did have one decent game vs New England when they were severely beaten up

he's an option if things dont work out with Romo, but going off what we saw from Romo in his preseason time and what we've seen from Schuab in his, there isnt much (if any) difference

note to you- there probably isnt anyone worth drafting where we'll be picking in the first

Quinn is going in the top-5, and maybe earlier...other than him there just isnt much to look at
