he got one , and he had to earn it.
He played good in the SB.
Thing is he wasted 11 years in detroit. as a star qb it is hard to get away from the team that drafts you.
Best thing to do is tank in the last year of your first contract and then refuse to sign new deal, and refuse to play on tag.
otherwise you have to play 2 years on the tag and risk bad injury.
He lucked out that mcvay wanted him and was able to get him.
LA paid dearly for him. They had to send Detroit Goff AND 2 first round picks......... it was an all-in move and paid off. One of those first rounders is now the 32nd pick in the draft and the other in 2023 probably won't be much better. When you consider the 2 or 3 cowboy draft boards that got leaked to public showing 18-20 first round grades a year......... not a bad move to get an all-pro caliber talent at Qb who has got 3-4 more good years in him.
