Matthew Golden should probably be our pick

Though I love the player and what he brings to us, I can think of other more needle moving players that we can take. Can't rule out Warren either. Pair him with Ferguson oh my...then schoon. That helps our Oline massively btw. We can use 12 personnel. Jam the rock down defenses throats. Run run run. Then do Play action off it . Warren might be the better pick because the kid does a lot.
The closer we get to the draft the more I'm in on Warren. Gives you the opportunity for a ton of 2TE looks, but teams almost still have to treat him as a WR. Really hes a perfect player for what Schottenheimer has talked about wanting to do with this offense all offseason. I'd be a big fan of this.

Only issue I have with taking a wr early is what about the run game? How many rookie receivers are what puts teams over the top when it's playoff time? Almost none. It's always the big uglies. The weather plays a big role in the playoffs and if your a team the relies on your receivers mostly, you stand to lose quickly. I want to run the ball effectively and dominate. That travels well no matter the conditions or what is at stake. Love Golden, but our early pick must be closer to a generational player, an enforcer, a bad dude. I can't rule out Booker or Membou at 12. Both are exactly what I stated. Booker is just meaner than hell. He's a leader too. He wants to beat ya up. Id pick him over Golden. Or if Graham,Jeanty fall. We gotta have a guy that moves the needle big.

We aren’t interested in competing next year. Our offseason proves that.

So I wouldnt worry too much about the run game or whatever because 1 or 2 units will be severely neglected this offseason.

Our GM has done a horrible job so far this offseason and there are holes all over this trash roster.

Agreed.. People would flip out I think with a Tyler Warren selection but I’d love it.

Ferguson is a little better than mediocre.

Warren improves your edge blocking and gives you a weapon in the pass game.

Yip. Wouldn't be surprised at all. Agree.

Man, I hope your wrong. Last year was one of the toughest to endure. The neglect by MM,JERRY AND ENOS, was glaring. It was keystone cops on acid.

I agree. I said IF we take wr I'd take golden, but like I keep saying......in a playoff game with Dak, having two number 1 wrs doesn't do anything. He needs defense, running game and oline before pass catchers. How people watch week after week and can't see that is crazy

True..

Problem is if Lamb goes down we have nobody that threatens the defense at all.

So even if you have a running game how are you going to expose defenses cheating to stop it knowing there is no threat to beat them with the pass.

Also, the WR market is ridiculous.

Drafting a WR is a great value play.

It makes us multiple while also adding to the run game. More I think on this idea, like you guys, more I'm on board with it.

Ferguson best year was around 750 yards. Would've been top 5 ish this year. Warren will be a 1000 yard tight end?

Value yes, but we can get a good wr later in this draft. It's deep. I'm ok not getting one at 12. Burden might even last til 44. Or a guy like Kyle Williams, the Washington State kid.

I don't care if the market is ridiculous. Pay the price like everybody else is. Drafting a pass catcher for this team is dumb. We can play the if game all day. If bland gets hurt then what?

He could be if he is a focal point of the offense.

Tyler Warren is a monster.
Runs wildcat too. I've seen him play fullback, out wide, slot, tight, QB or wildcat. He even played a few snaps at tail back. He understands how to use his body.Hes like Witten and Gronk.

He'd get the second most targets on the team. Why would he need to be the focal point? Again you Warren fans have all these built in excuses for when he shows he's not some generational player.

There's no way in hell he's a 1000 yard receiver next year. I don't care where he goes

Watch this guy. The highlights are crazy.

He’s probably a top 3 player in this draft.

Just gonna leave this here…was it the system? Ewers? I didn’t watch enough Texas football to fully know, but it’s definitely a bit concerning

Nah.

Golden is a transfer from Houston who worked his way up the depth charts.

He checks every single box when you watch him.

The physical ability is there and was well as the skill.

College numbers don’t mean squat going forward.

The draft isn’t about yesterday’s production. It’s about tomorrows.

Who cares about next year?

Y’all know we are going to be terrible or mediocre at best right?

We need to be thinking about the 2027 Cowboys because Dak & Jerry have ruined our short term future.
