The area is not for the weak and privileged, that's for sure.
It’s a shame too. Years ago used to enjoy going to the border for shopping. Closet I’ve been in over 10 years was South Padre and had to drive thru border checks. I dont even want to go to South Padre anymore. Too close .

South Padre Island is a beautiful place to visit. Back in the late 70s through mid 90s, all of the big bands (especially during the 80s) used to come down here to perform live during every Spring Break or Summer. U2, Van Halen, Gloria Estefan, ZZ Top, Bananarama, Cyndi Lauper, The Bangles, J Geils Band, Huey Lewis & The News, Genesis, Madonna, The Police, Eddie Money, Poison, INXS, Jefferson Starship, etc. By the time the 90s started rolling around and gangsta music started flourishing, the atmosphere started changing. Bad element from around the region and across the border started causing fights consistently and committing crimes. It got so out of hand by the mid 90s, all of the big bands simply stopped coming and never came back. I know we can't talk politics here, but people have no idea how poor decisions affect an area, businesses, economies and the resident people. Sure do miss those 80s. That was the heyday of South Padre Island and the area.

Been to South Padre two times in the early 2000s and it was ok as far as I could notice. Looked like any other beach resort. It wasn't as tropical as I had imagined though lol, reminded me of Ocean City in Maryland, lol.

Typical of any Texan involved with today's Hollywood. Bunch of sellouts. Why not look into investing in a team IN TEXAS???
Well the McNair's are not interested in selling the Houston Texans or invite in a third party investor and the same applies with the Jones' with our Dallas Cowboys. Besides McConaughey is into politics and Landover, MA is like 12 miles from Washington, DC.

If Bezos does buy the Commanders it may cause an owner and team descriptive paradigm shift to Bezos, owner of the Washington Golden Bozos.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
Who cares if he wants to buy into an NFL team? That doesn't make him a fan as a minority stake holder.

Its a cash cow investment for those who can afford it and opportunities are rare. I can't believe Bezos is even offering minority stakes since he can well afford to buy the team for cash. The NFL is a money printing press. He will probably make a huge return on his investment.

Snyder cannot stand the Washington Post or Bezos for that matter.

Alright, alright, alright Matt I think wants to get more involved in politics and owning the Commanders puts him in the hotbed of politics.
