Even in theory if a healthy Irving and Davis would have won a title this year

It doesn't matter anymore. Both are hurt, and Irving won't play until after the start of the 2026 season

They'll fade and possibly miss the playoffs this year and next year will be a struggle

Meanwhile...the Lakers may make it to the conference finals

DuMont stated Nico brought him the idea and he laughed.

I don't know if that is true, or he was giddy about it, but I am guessing mama in law won't be happy soon when she sees the financial cost of this deal.
Mavs got just under the luxury threshold but are hemorrhaging fans and sales.
Attendance and sales are going to fall by millions each and that doesn't even cover the money from missing home playoff games.

This was career suicide for Nico and DuMont. Better find another Adelson family member to put in charge.
