Mavs Trade Luka to Lakers

Luka puts up 1/3 of Lakers points in a playoff win where they hold Minny to 85 points.... (Defense wins Championships)
Luka looks sharper than even last year. Perhaps he knew what he was doing slowing himself into the season and taking the rest afforded by injury.....
If he was serious about defense winning championships , how can he keep Kyrie? It's just a line he threw at the new owner to get Luca out. No way Nico survives this offseason. Fans are in full revolt demanding his head, and it's only going to get worse the deeper LA goes in the playoffs.

At this point it feels so gross.
Like a young couple were splitting up and arguing over the Xbox.
The girl bought it but the guy played it twice as much.
Instead of giving the girl 100 bucks for it and they call it a compromise he got ragey and threw it out the second-floor window to the concrete.

lol. But this is a 4 billion dollar toy!

So, the new owners didn't want one of the top 3 players in the NBA in his prime that just lead the team to the NBA Finals? That makes no sense and the lopsided trade makes even less sense. If you don't want to max sign him, then fine go get a bounty on the open market for the guy. Instead, it was done in a clandestine manner all hush hush to his buddy in LA at bargain basement discount. It reeks of either total incompetence or mental illness.

All indications are that this was all Nico and he sold his nonsense "defense wins championships" vision to the newbie owners. Great players win championships in the NBA.

If you think the Gm moved Doncic without ownership knowledge?

there's a zero percent chance that happened

but what I truly want to know is...who's idea was it? Did Nico go to ownership and sell them on the idea of moving him, are was ownership annoyed with Luka and told Nico to find a way to move him.

They knew, but they are not NBA people. They rely on their GM for information. This isnt a Jerry Jones type owner. It appears as though this was Nico's idea. He wanted Luca out and they trusted him. As I said above , the truth will be revealed in what happens this off season. If they keep him, then obviously they had a big hand in this and Nico was just their stooge. But, all signs point to that not being the case.

Ownership is Las Vegas casino magnates. They know ZERO about basketball.

They know business however and this is KILLING them financially.

I am sure Dumont signing off is the only thing keeping Harrison his job.
But they just announced they want a basketball guy brought to work with Nico, LOL.
So basically, they want to demote him from top basketball guy in an effort to get him to resign so they don't have to pay him his salary.

Every game Luka plays, be it 3 more or 8 more, are in indictment of this decision.
AD is a really good big, but he doesn't play 42 minutes bringing up the ball and running the offense.
He also doesn't lead the free world in jersey sales or fill seats.
This was a very bad talent evaluation that Nico has put his name on.

Dennis Lindsey was here helping Nico but took the Detroit job. That basketball knowledge loss has been pretty detrimental to Dallas.

Nico isn't resigning or even admitting error. We are dealing with that level of fool. He's a double-down/prideful type who knows this is the last job in basketball he will ever get. He's going to hang as long as he can.

i don’t blame him though. There is nothing he can say or do so I don’t even know why he does interviews.
