Mavs Trade Luka to Lakers

It's way too early to judge this trade yet, but as of now it's a first round 1-4 playoff exit w/ either.
Luka went for 30 ppg, 8 ast, 8 rbs in the series. The lakers have much bigger problems than him. They literally don't have a center. They have no size in the front court. Watch the offseason as they build around him. The lakers didn't make the trade bc they thought they had a shot this year.

No but the intent was to take advantage of Lebron’s career. As of right now they don’t even have a deal for Luka long term. I think we all assume he will sign but he can’t get the Super Max so any team with enough cap space and can bid on his services.

Lakers need a healthy AD. That’s the type of guy they need and I don’t know who that is. I’m pretty sure Reeves and Rui are gone. They will use Reeves to get what they need. They’ve ruined Knecht and his value.

The point of the deal was to get Luka Doncic

Taking advantage of LeBron’s remaining time was secondary

Of course. That's part of the assessment. Good thing for them is that they didn't give up much.

Lol.

Dallas definitely still lost the trade.

But this is a nice secondary effect from that bad decision.

Dallas rewarded for trading their franchise player to the flagship team of the NBA
Yeah this is super sus….sagging league ratings and then the biggest market team inexplicably gets a top 3 superstar in the most lopsided trade in history without the star even getting shopped elsewhere. The League wasted no time approving the trade then the Mavs win the draft lottery despite only having 1.8% odds.
IMO, I think Silver ensured the Mavs draft lottery chances went to 100% in exchange for that trade.
