Not to debate - like I said, both teams had plenty of garbage calls and no calls. But do you happen to have any photos of Manu's flops A La Vlade Divac?

Regarding Bowen - he plays fantastic defense, always has, would love to have him on the team. But the fact is that ALL great defenders go too far sometimes and get physical. When that happens, fouls need to be called on them to keep them honest. Not as much at the end, but I can think of a few points in the game that Bowen needed those calls.

Works both ways, though. I think we travel often in games and don't get called for it.

Manu does flop... that is for certain. The no-call when Dirk shoved him though, should have been a foul. Manu over-reacted, but Dirk did push off. If he hadn't have over-reacted he may have gotten the call.

In the interest of fairness, I'll post all the Manu pictures I could find and you can judge for yourself.

Here's the foul against Dampier that I thought was questionable... but looking at it again, he was well inside the "no-charge" circle.

I will add that it seems NO ONE is as adept at the "double foul" as Dampier.

Manu does flop... that is for certain. The no-call when Dirk shoved him though, should have been a foul. Manu over-reacted, but Dirk did push off. If he hadn't have over-reacted he may have gotten the call.

Regarding the no call on Dirk - Manu earned that no call. You're right - it would have been a foul had he not overreacted.

In fact, I recall the announcers:

'A little push, a LOT of dive, therefore, no foul.'

Refs don't like flops - and if Dirk pushed him hard enough to stumble like that at that angle, Dirk is MUCH stronger than I though or Manu REALLY needs strength training.

Bah. I won't deny Manu could win some Academy Awards for his flops, but John Stockton and Karl Malone won a lot of freaking games with the same mentality. Dennis Rodman was always pretty good about taking the fall too. That's just the nature of the game and some are better masters of the flop than others. Trust me, Ginobilli pays for that all or nothing attitude of his. He was hurt a lot this year.

Detroit plays the same type of defense as the Spurs. If the Mavs can't take it now, they don't deserve to be in the Finals.

OK, good enough. You were "LOL"ing at those fouls earlier, though. Looking at that picture, Dampier should get hit with a Flagrant 1.

I want a clean game too. If Bowen commits fouls they should call them. In re-watching the end of the game, that possession with about 1 minute left, I do think Bowen fouled him before Dirk drove to the hoop. It was a missed call, but as we've already agreed, there were missed calls on both ends.

That one foul near the end on the turnover where Parker had a clear path to the basket was absolutely blown by the refs.

I'm still not convinced there was a foul on the last possession. There was only one angle from far away. Dirk could have tripped or he could have been bumped, it's certainly not clear.

Anyway, I don't really have anything against the Mavs. If the Spurs don't win the Championship this year, the Mavs would be the team I'd be rooting for. Mostly I'm just having fun here arguing over the calls... it's all in good fun I hope. When the Mavs win their first game, I expect to be getting as good as I'm giving.

I was LOLing at how flagrant they were, not that they were OK by me. I didn't see more than the end of the third and the whole fourth.

I agree with you regarding Parker - it was a bad no call. That being said, there was a point where Josh Howard stole the ball from Duncan - looked clean to me, but was called as a foul.

But it doesn't matter that much - we could go on all night about the calls and no calls. There were plenty both ways.

I'm a Mavs fan and all, and I want us to win - but I don't live and die by them like I do the Cowboys. Though they are my enemies right now, should they beat us, I hope they win again, if for no other reason than I am a texan.

That being said - I really want this to be the year we finally make it - and I think we have a better chance now than ever.

But yeah, I'm definitely not a member of any mavs forums or anything.

The Spurs hit 13 of 16 4th period shots and STILL couldnt win. Saying they couldnt hit anything is ridiculous, they plyed the best offensive game possible in the 4th period. Dallas is just showing that, finally, they have surpassed the master.
