Maybe it's Romo?

I think the browns will win the SB before the cowboys will. No sarcasm intended. This teams went nowhere for 15 years and i dont see that changing

It's amazing what a loss can do.

In only week 2 no less.

I don't remember seeing these threads last week...

Romo is a gunslinger type quarterback. He is no Brett Favre but that is the closest comparison I can come up with. What people need to realize is how lucky we are to have this guy. Without Parcells and Sean Payton seeing something in the guy chances are Jerry would have dove head first into the Drew Henson experiment and this team would still be stuck in limbo when it comes to the quarterback position.

This team has quite a few problems but IMHO Romo is not one of them. Until Jerry drops his ego at the doorstep and brings in someone that can evaluate talent on a consistent level this team will continue to be the definition of average.

Yeah, cause mediocracy has taken us real far.

I look at Alex Smith and thought complete bust, shaky in the pocket, doesn't pick up on reads, not mobile and hardly makes deep throws during the course of a game, a first overall pick wasted -- and then Jim Harbaugh arrives on the scene == and the guy is money.

He's still not Romo, but he was saved by smart drafting, a great system and a coach who gets the most out of him. He's probably on his way to a Super Bowl in the next five years.

I think our drafting has come around, I am hoping the system and coach are right behind.

Hmm...you might be on to something. Romo has all the talent surrounding him that not many teams have.

He has a good oline, he has receivers that don't drop passes, he has at least a top 3 defense, he has everything going for him and how he loses games is beyond me.

Romo needs to get benched and let Orton play out the season so that the Cowboys will at least have a fighting chance. I bet if Orton threw those passes that Dez and Witten dropped, those balls would have been caught.

I cannot think of a single QB that throws a pick IN THE FIRST QTR!. Who does that? Romo does!

I'm sick and tired of Romo. The guy cannot even stop a 90 yard drive.

Hey Kristie, that up there is sarcasm too. LOL. luv u girl.

Romo needs to throw his receivers open more. That's my only knock on him.

Anyone who thinks Tony Romo is the problem in Dallas doesn't know anything about football and should not be taken seriously.

You're truly a moron if you think a top 5 quarterback like Romo is mediocre.

Oh I forgot you're the same clown who said Flacco was a better QB. :laugh1:

"News Flash" we beat the defending SB champs on the road last week and turned in a pathetic effort this week.

It's not Romo.

He's on that same tier with DeMarcus Ware in that he's a great player, who doesn't actively hurt the team. Neither is a guy that the team will walk through fire and brimstone behind though.

ive gone back and forth with this and just for the record i really like tony romo as our QB and do want to keep him. i really do think its maybe Jerry Jones if anyone. the thing i really cant figure out is if JJ realizes it? we all know he is smart but not football smart. because if memory serves me correctly (please feel free to correct me if i am wrong) but wasn't jimmy in charge of the team while JJ made the deals? we all know he and stephen are "shrewd negotiators." But I think JJ would be best used the way jimmy used him, telling JJ who he wants to get rid of and what he wants in return, then JJ would make it happen.

If Dez and Witten run the correct routes and don't have those drops (particularly 2 HUGE long passes to Witten that would have changed the game) - Romo has another 300 yard game (ignorning the 45 garbage yards at end of game) with 2 tds and one crappy pick - and he is best player on the field again.

I think Romo is frustrated. His probowler has the worst game on Sunday- and he's his buddy. Dez gets the yips, a step back again after looking better in pre-season and game 1 - still more maturing needed. Austin seems a bit gimpy still.

OT's are not playing their best yet.

New Center.

This game was not on Romo, the noise made it really hard for him to do his adjustments at the line.

He did have frustrated and sour body language - which is rare. He was forcing it by the 3rd quarter.

Seattle is pretty tough at home and his WR's let him down over and over. Oline is still pretty bad.

Felix has been useless so far.

Romo is not the problem.

Yeah, its definitely Romo. Why didnt Romo start throwing the ball to himself when he realized his teammates couldn't catch footballs?

Everyone knows a real leader QB would make adjustments and start throwing himself passes. Just heave the ball 80 feet in the air downfield and then sprint and run under it.

Give me a freaking break.

I don't think Romo is the problem, but at the same time I'm wouldn't give him a contract extension either. When your team is losing and you need to change the overall culture of the team the head coach and quarterback are always the ones to go. Just the nature of the positions. At some point we have to try something new. Definitely not saying this year, but if we fail to win a playoff game again heads need to roll....everywhere.

Anyone who makes bets they don't honor shouldn't be taken seriously.

Besides, I don't think he is the problem as much as I think he may be a part of the problem. I realize the thread title doesn't make that clear, though.

Recently it was said that if you keep Romo in the pocket he struggles. He's more dangerous out of the pocket improvising, it was said.

I had said something similar to this back in 2010 and that's kind of what persuaded me to post this thread.

I'm definitely not the most knowledgeable football guy around, so I won't for a second pretend to be, but.

Does anyone get the feeling that our offense looks like 11 star's just running around making things happen? What I mean is, watching the Colts and yes, we've got to account a bit for the fact that they have Peyton, but.. watching the Colts you sense organization and purpose, an "identity" I guess you could call it.

With our offense, plays break down incredibly quickly it seems and here is Romo running around in the back field looking to improvise. We just don't see to operate well within the confines of a typical play call. You could call it freelancing, too.

That's not to say I never see it happen, but we just seem so disorganized and clueless half the time. I'm not sure if all of this or most of this comes from the offensive line or not but it's just an observation.

I feel like disorganization of this team offensively is a coaching problem. Romo is not responsible for these guys consistently not knowing what to do.
