Comparing one week with another is never a good barometer of a team. However, with that said, I believe the Skins have an excellant D.

The Skins Offense is NOT terrible. The Bears D has been excellent. The Skins couldn't get into the endzone, not because of Offensive inability, but because the Bears D is just THAT good.

The Skins still rolled up 320+ yards total Offense. That's nothing to laugh at. Portis ran for 120 yards against a Bears D which bottled up Kevin Jones.
Kevin Jones didn't exactly light up Green Bay either.

Well, they held the Bears to 6 points, and yesterday that same Bears team put up 38 points against the Lions. Granted Detroit's defense is not great, but still, 38 points is significant. Let's not put this game in our pocket yet.

Maybe all the prognostication about a Skins' defense shutting down JJ isn't homerism!

You're going to have a nightmare if you go out trying to predict games in the NFL in this day and age by using the XYZ logic...X>Y, Y>Z, therefor X>Z.

The Lions are a bad team. At least they played like it on Sunday. Harrinton threw some terrible passes. I'm not sure the picks were because Chicago has a great defense, or if Harrington was just terribly off.

Knowledgabe Skins fans(oxymoron), and homers alike are going to be right when saying Washington has a good defense. Do they have world beaters at every position, no. But what they do have is a D-Coordinator who runs a very complex scheme, and coaches these guys well. They have a solid front 4, good LB's, and a pretty good secondary. Should be a good match up. They deserved that top 3 defensive ranking last year. And if they keep playing the way they did last week, they deserve it this year too.

Offensivley they are weak. Brunell looks his age out there. Their WR's dont put much fear into anyone. Moss is a good number 2, he's got great speed, but he's not a go to guy. Patten is solid, but again, no better than a 2 or 3. Thrash is a ST guy. Jacobs is a guy Skins fans like, he's got potential, but he can't stay healthy. He's been out for a long time with that foot injury, so I doubt he even suits up. They only have 4 WR's on the roster.

Personally, I'd take Crayton, Johnson, Glenn, Price, and Witten over Moss, Thrash, Patten, Jacobs, and Cooley. Our line is better than theirs, and we are pretty much even at RB.

the Commanders defense is good, but the Bears had two returns for tds and their defense intercepted 5 passes...

and oh by the way, the Lions defense IS bad, and Matt Millen IS a bad GM

Well the Saints beat the Panthers, the Panthers beat the Patriots, and the Giants are handling the Saints so far. Does that mean the Giants are better than the Patriots? These comparisons are dumb.

if we can limit penalites, we will win.

I'm goin' against the grain here and say that if we can THROW the ball we will win.

The Skins are going to throw the house at us blitz-wise and if we can take advantage pass-wise, it's a done deal.
