Maybe the right move is to trade Micah

If we lose the 49ers game, I say blow it up. Dump everything but the very young playmakers. Everyone else is either old or past their prime.
Blow it up. Trade everything.

But you still need a competent GM and coaching staff. Not these petered out old HCs
The trade deadline is 8 days after the Niners game. How many effective trades do you think the Cowboys’ front office can pull off in that amount of time? I suggest zero.

Why would you trade your best player after signing Dak and CeeDee to a big extension. If you are trying to rebuild then you should have not extended Dak and CeeDee. What the Cowboys need to do is play out the season, let the young guys sink or swim, hopefully lose enough to get blue chip draft position, hire a real coaching staff ( no more jammy time or friends of Jerry), extend Parsons before minicamp, use the cap space to bring in real top flight free agents along the lines, and the Joneses just concentrate on growing the brand. If the Cowboys do that we might be back challenging for NFC supremacy sooner then later.

Micah is a non factor, Might as well trade him. Knowing Jerry though he'd get fleeced on the deal.

Unlike the kooky Dak trade hauls people proposed last year (a 1st rounder, HA HA HA!), Micah would definitely get a haul.

At LEAST a 1st and change....but a shrewd GM would get two 1sts and change.

So yeah we'd get one 1st and change.

Problem is....what's the point? Dak will be here at LEAST another 5 years, if not more. We're not winning ANYTHING with him. We're not even GOING to anything with him. So if you traded Parsons and got a 1st plus change, by the time we're finally free from Dak, and have gotten a young QB to build a new team around, the players we'd pick would already be at the end of their 1st contract, more likely we'll into their 2nd, and the majority of their best years would be gone.

I propose trading Parsons for FUTURE picks, to take advantage of desperate teams. Some GM would pay THREE 1st rounders for him, if it was 1st rounders in 2029, 2030, and 2031. The GM won't care (problem for some future GM), he'd get a star pass rusher now, and we'd have primo picks waiting for when we have a chance to be good again one day (2032 or so)

Some of you will be dead by then...but blame Jerry for that bad news, not me.

It is what it is.

But I don’t think it’ll make a difference. Honestly. They’ll blow some of the picks. Some of the guys will come in and play well.

It won’t lead to a championship though.

The only chance this FO wins a title is if they fall *** backwards into an elite QB. I’m talking Mahomes, Brady or Manning type elite.
Great post.
So true.
And we need that same kinda luck on hiring the right HC to go along with the QB too.

One can still dream I guess.

Unbeknownst to you NFL teams are not allowed to trade draft picks that far in the future. So your suggestion is nonsense. In addition, escalating compensation for QBs, WRs, and edge rushers, make 1st and 2nd round draft picks necessary to acquire good talent that is cost controlled for four years. They are too valuable to trade. No team is going to trade a first round draft pick for any NFL player. I doubt any team would give up even one second round pick for Parsons as he must be paid a significant amount immediately. Look how many 2025 first and second draft choices have been traded. No firsts, three seconds.

The contemporary NFL is much different than even just tree years ago.

I’ve never been a fan of this idea and not even sure that I am right now but the Cowboys are in big big trouble with Dak and some of the other veterans they paid.

We have so many holes and a front office that does nothing to improve in free agency.

I think anyone that can be traded for valuable picks has to be considered.

We have no RB’s, WR’s are mediocre, holes on the OL coming up, front 7 on defense is atrocious, and Diggs is only good against the pass.

Also, this offense goes through Dak’s arm and that’s just not a winning recipe.

The Cowboys need to dump as many contracts as they can, get picks, and get younger and faster.

If Parsons gets you multiple firsts then you have to really consider it.

The Lions are where they are now because they made bold moves that got them a ton of draft picks.
It is the right move but it won’t help with Jerry and Stephen running the show. Until you get rid of Jerry and the country club atmosphere nothing will change. This culture will never change anything for the good

I'm trading Micah for just a first if that's all that's out there. I might even trade him for a second if I have to. There's a reason he slid in the draft but of course that's never stopped us from using a premium pick.
A bit too late for that. If the move was to totally rebuild then you should have dumped guys before the last draft abd new contracts

I don't think it's too late to trade micah. We just can't trade Diggs or Martin. No one's dumb enough to pay them that much. Same with Steele.

It's a no Brainer IMO.......If someone gives you 2 #1's for him....you do it.

Parsons is not our best player. Why do people keep saying this?
