Maybe We'll go Tyler Eifert in Round 1?

I'm starting to think the Dallas staff may go this route, so we can run more 2TE sets. It never worked with Marty B, because he was a problem child here. But bring in a guy like Eifert and we automatically become a more dangerous offense. He'd also be well-served playing with Witten and learning from him.

I like him but no thanks in round 1.

He's not a special enough player to pass on our pressing needs on the OL and DL.

Man I hope not, Hanna reminds of a poor mans Jimmy Graham. Hanna can be our #2 with WR like speed, I'd rather add a blocker like Dion Sims or Nick Kasa later on.

He would present an interesting value in a trade back. I'm not as high on Hanna as others.

we should just get a UDFA blocking TE and call it a day,we barely used Hannah as it is and i dont remember him dropping a pass.

In all fairness, we had intended on running 2TE sets. But never really did because Marty B sort of flopped here and Hannah is still kind of green. But, imo, he has shown a tremendous amount of potential in his limited time. I just haven't seen a lot of talk about TEs in the draft. I also tend to think it's more likely than some think we may draft one. I don't live at Valley Ranch, but I'm making an assumption based on what I think JG may or may not be thinking in terms of how to improve the offense. 2TE sets also helps protect the QB more.

We used 2, 2nd round picks on TE's trying to go to more of a 2 TE set.

maybe it's not the players that can't figure it out.

No way I use a 1st round pick on a TE.

Neither one of those guys is as good as Eifert. Would you agree or disagree?

If he is sitting there at 18 I imagine you will be answering phone calls from teams trying to move up and get him.

I think you can get a reasonable trade for him if the OGs and DTs you like are off the board along with austin.

If Eifert is far and away the highest rated player on the board their board at 18 they should take him. Hanna has alot to prove and I doubt will ever be a plus in the running game. Witten is 31 and while he has been very durable, if he went down, this offense would come to a grinding halt. The Patriots concentrate on a TE based offense and when it is clicking, it is hard to stop. Middle of the field is vulnerable on just about every defense because most ILBs cant cover TEs.

Very well stated. I'm thinking along these lines as well.

Me too.

He had what, 8 catches last year?

Remember all the Ogletree-hype after his rookie year, when he really only caught 10 passes?

As for Eifert, I am definitely in the boat of BPA. I don't care about the position. I'd much rather end up with two great tight ends than another Bobby Carpenter.

Coming out of college, yes. But no way I use a 1st to draft him, when we have way bigger needs.

With Witten and Dez, he would be the 3rd option at the most, maybe 4th with Miles.

Too many bigger needs than a 2nd string TE.

Ehh highly unlikely he's BPA. I like Patterson a good bit more than Eifert and Tavon Austin is light years ahead if we are talking receiving options at 18.

Who do you think would want to trade up to get him? ATL is the only team I can think of. Maybe Chicago or GB.

I would laugh for weeks at the fan reaction if they picked a TE in the first. I would hope a second round RB and a third round CB would be the next picks.

I agree with this. Both went on and have done well for themselves. Yes Marty has only been gone one year, but he did well, even though he is inconsistent.

Our staff, or excuse me OC sucks. Always has.

I like Eifert. I took him in our mock, but I doubt you'll have a ton of trade interest on a 1st round TE.
