I love eifert (being a Notre Dame fanatic) but I just can't see it. A good draft is taking the best player available with a caveat...that being, you don't take a position where you really don't have a legit need, but you DO have other needs...out team has legit needs at OL, DL, S and to lesser degrees, OLB, WR, RB...IMO, we don't draft QB, CB or TE in the first round. Not with Witten and Hanna there. Hanna showed some very brief flashes that he can catch the ball and I would think they want to give him a shot to prove his worth. If they ever did draft Eifert, then Hanna would essentially be worthless to this team. You aren't going to have 3 TE's that can catch the ball as their primary focus (yes, Witten can block).
I would be happy with BPA for OL, DL, S in the first and 2nd (as the picks sit right now pre-trades) and then BPA for all other picks...people love Austin (and I kinda do too), but IMO, he would be a mistake in round 1 just because of what I wrote above. Picking a "flash" player is nice, but doing so also makes it even more important to go and grab OL/DL/S in subsequent rounds - it actually takes the BPA approach away
