Maybe we'll see the real offense tonight...

Tonight may be interesting in that we'll finally see the offense sans audibles and crazy gestures and last minute changes at the line. The tempo may even be better as we won't wait until the last second to snap the ball every time. We may even see fewer false starts as there won't be any pre-snap drama going on. I know none of this may make any difference, but maybe it will, and maybe it will be for the better.

I like Romo and think he givers us the best chance to win, but sometimes I think some added consistency and termpo would help our offense establish a rhythm and dominate.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't know about you but what I want in an offense is an inability to adjust to pre-snap reads.

You dang sure want see Orton swap Dez and Beasely off of reads and make a 40 yard plus play. I think Orton will be OK, he'll have 20 attempts or so but our offense wont run through him. I don't think it will be Orton who determines the game for us, it's our defense and running game.

I think that you might see the opposite of what you are looking for tonight. we will miss romo on a few snaps tonight. romo makes this line look good at times with the way he moves in the pocket.

Real offense just because Orton is playing? smh

I think he means that we are more likely to see what Callihan is calling since as Jerry said Orten won't have the same flexibility as Romo had. I'm hopeful that our coaches can call a game plan that puts up at least 28 points if we are going to win.

But that isn't so called "real offense", it's called adjustments due to Orten's limitations either by physical or being reined in. Or one can say more balanced offense. But to say Orten will run real offense is a poor choice of words, imo.

Probably so! But as much as I like Romo I do think he adjusted plays quite a bit. Tonight those adjustments won't be made so it will give an indication of if Callahan can call a balanced game. It could be difficult when plays are being changed consistently while trying to get in a groove. I don't believe Orton is better than Romo, that would be silly. But we might see much more of what Callahan is calling since they can't blame Romo if we aren't running the ball. That doesn't mean that the result will be better but I've been a far for over 35 years so here is to hope the result tonight is a Cowboy Win!

True - there will be some adjustments in the game plan, and maybe I did use a poor choice of words. I just wanted to point out if there are no audibles, maybe the offense might show us a few things we haven't seen before. Maybe they can actually concentrate on one play only when they get to the line. I don't know, but I don't like all the audibles anyway as most of the time they don't really seem to get us more yardage. Yes, one in a while we get a great play from a audible, but we check out of the main play for no gain quite a bit.
