Maybe we'll see the real offense tonight...

Probably so! But as much as I like Romo I do think he adjusted plays quite a bit. Tonight those adjustments won't be made so it will give an indication of if Callahan can call a balanced game. It could be difficult when plays are being changed consistently while trying to get in a groove. I don't believe Orton is better than Romo, that would be silly. But we might see much more of what Callahan is calling since they can't blame Romo if we aren't running the ball. That doesn't mean that the result will be better but I've been a far for over 35 years so here is to hope the result tonight is a Cowboy Win!

Ok...you stated my opinion perfectly. Orton is not better than Romo by any means, but the play selection will now be exactly as Callahan is calling them. Now we can skewer him if things go south in a hurry...lol.

True - there will be some adjustments in the game plan, and maybe I did use a poor choice of words. I just wanted to point out if there are no audibles, maybe the offense might show us a few things we haven't seen before. Maybe they can actually concentrate on one play only when they get to the line. I don't know, but I don't like all the audibles anyway as most of the time they don't really seem to get us more yardage. Yes, one in a while we get a great play from a audible, but we check out of the main play for no gain quite a tbit.

Audibles can be helpful at times but like you I don't like audibles on all the offensive plays. P. Manning is great at it and I think he is only one who does it on every play. Romo is very good at it but at times I think he outsmarts himself.

Tonight may be interesting in that we'll finally see the offense sans audibles and crazy gestures and last minute changes at the line. The tempo may even be better as we won't wait until the last second to snap the ball every time. We may even see fewer false starts as there won't be any pre-snap drama going on. I know none of this may make any difference, but maybe it will, and maybe it will be for the better.

I like Romo and think he givers us the best chance to win, but sometimes I think some added consistency and termpo would help our offense establish a rhythm and dominate.

I think many tonight will see some things from Orton that will make them say this is something we've needed for a long time. The passing form--ball released high over right ear, sharpness/quickness of the throw--more of pro QB form. Doesn't mean he will lead us to victory, as he already has two strikes against him, but will give the overall impression of what we've been missing.
Just my 2 cents.

Game plan with your franchise QB and back up QB are obviously going to be different. Us running the ball 30+ times today would show nothing in regards to how much Romo is audibling, but I'm sure some will act like it does.

You dang sure want see Orton swap Dez and Beasely off of reads and make a 40 yard plus play. I think Orton will be OK, he'll have 20 attempts or so but our offense wont run through him. I don't think it will be Orton who determines the game for us, it's our defense and running game.

yeah I agree, defense and how murray plays will determine this game.

we have to be realistic about Orton, I mean he has to be just a bus driver because he isnt gonna light it up. If our defense can hold the #2 offense to minimal points along with our running game keeping them off the field, then we have a real chance

and we are going to run the ball plenty due to Orton being in the game, so not really sure if this even indicates how much balance their is to Callahans playcalling, but yeah it will be all Callahan for sure
