Mayfield feels disrespected

I’m not going to say that Baker is better than Dak, but Baker is a really good example of why I wouldn’t be married to the idea that you have to have to extend your QB no matter what.

15 years ago it was terrifying to lose a QB without someone waiting down the depth chart. Now it’s not all that difficult to find an average producer if you have some weapons for them to utilize.
Baker isn’t the proof of that he’s been apart of some bad programs. He was a backup for a little while.

Sam Darnold is a better example. Baker is a example of why I would rather try my luck with guys like Goff or Dak than a Baker.

So you would worsen your overall quarterback production for what? I'll tell you what. Tell me what team has ever traded a higher ranked, more accomplished quarterback for a lower ranked and less accomplished quarterback in every quarterbacking category?

What team in NFL history has purposely worsened a position via trade with a lower ranked player in the same position. Please make what you said make sense because I really don't want to assume that you have absolutely no clue how football works.
Would Baker be playing with the most explosive offensive talent he has ever had if he came to Dallas? That would make a huge difference in his performance, no?

Baker and feeling disrespected, name a better duo.
Disrespected in Cleveland, Carolina and now Tampa.

Disrespected HOF 1st ballot.

I get him wanting a good deal with term. Bucs seem to either want to retool in general or just want to piss off their QB and DT.

I just don’t see a massive gap between those guys to be honest. If you swapped baker and Darnold I’m not sure either teams record changes much at all.

And while I agree that it probably wouldn’t have been as good as 2025 Dak both players probably put up very respectable numbers in Dallas.

In talent no. Talent wise all these guys are of similar caliber. But it says something about a guy even with help who can make the right throw and right decision. Baker hasn’t showed that. Dak hasn’t either especially against San Fran.

Baker stepped in when Stafford got hurt and had an explosive offense talent with the Rams, am I right? He played well too, so why didn't the Rams keep him as a starter?

Most likely because he wasn't on Stafford's level, correct? I know you weren't the one who originally said it, but I was responding to the person who claimed they would trade Dak for Baker.

Unless Baker came with a 1st and and multiple 2nd round pics, how much sense does it make to trade a higher graded player for a lower one in the same position?

I don’t even want to know what would possess someone to want Baker over Dak. If someone didn’t want either? Fine. There is literally nothing Baker does better than Dak and people can’t use the talent around him excuse because he inherited a lot of those guys Brady had.

Exactly..... but when you bring up people having low football IQs, thats considered "a personal attack". Yet their protectors can't explain how it can be beneficial to a team to trade a higher producing and higher ranked player for a lesser producing, lower ranked journeyman in the same position.

Im still waiting for those few to make that make logical sense..... they won't though because they can't.

That’s when they tell on themselves when they start saying they’d rather have a inferior qb…I know then yeah that’s not a sports take.

He’ll get to find out what the NFL thinks he’s worth.
Exactly. Too bad it wasn't this year for him. If the college QB's perform well this year, a lot of teams are going to spend their resources on a rookie driving down his potential market.

Funny thing is most of these accolades came in college lol.
Well for one I his fault that he got set back because of the Cleveland brown hole that he ended up in can you imagine if Romo or Prescott ended up on a team like that Like the Jets and other teams that just can't seem to develop quarterbacks make really bad decisions there? You know that's why I took Sam Darnold and some of these other guys We've already seen Gino Smith make a small comeback you end up on the wrong team it's going to take you a longer time to get back on track and get your career going because that's what happens a lot when you're a top pick in the draft you end up on bad teams and then you look bad and you end up on other teams that are not so good as you travel around and finally find your match..

The Browns made a mistake letting him go period end of story I don't care about his ego and whatever other problems because yes I'm a Longhorn fan and I hate this dude I want to jump through the screen and beat this dude's **** every weekend because he is just that kind of guy he rubs everyone the wrong way he's the opposite of prescott..

But then he had to move from team to team and then he found it with the Bucs, He's being disrespected by the buck just pay the man 50 million that's what he's worth he's next man up isn't he I mean he's not going to get what Prescott got or the top five but I do believe he should get top 10 money you can't find guys that play as consistent as him at quarterback teams keep looking for them and they can't find them that's why Kyler Murray and other quarterbacks have stole money or draft picks from other teams because they're not that good he is better than Kyler Murray and what did Kyler Murray get?

You imagine if he played with the 49ers he's as good as Brock Purdy What money did Brock Purdy just get?

Not saying he's better than him but he is on that level and that Brock Purdy can get 50 so can he that's what he's sitting there thinking I don't think he's pushing for top five money but he wants to be respected....

There's been plenty of quarterbacks in this league that we thought were trash because of the teams they ended up on and now look there are four or five of them even Daniel Jones is having a comeback, Well Malik Willis be that next guy we'll see but this is what happens sometimes you just get the wrong match right now the Bucks are stupid 'cause who are they gonna replace him with 'cause I remember when Washington dot Kirk Cousins was trash in a lot of the places Kirk Cousins went he was the best quarterback and yet he keeps being cut I know he's older now but people laugh at the money he made you know what that is what you have to pay for a quarterback that it's at least that good..

Ehh... maybe but that means our production as an offense would most likely drop in the passing game but he'd probably get more rushing yards, no doubt.

Mayfield career QBR 91.2

Prescott career QBR 98.3

Mayfield only had one season finishing in the top overall quarterbacking category. Dak has finished top ten, every season he's completed healthy.

I could go on and on, but as good as Mayfield is, he's not on Dak's level. Now i would say that i like Mayfield's fire and grit at times. He's a damn good quarterback but we'd be taking a step down with him in this offense compared to what we already have.
what happens to those numbers if you take out the years on crap organizations?

Mayfield is a mid tier QB worth around 30-35 mil/per. He's plagued w/ inconsistencies. Don't be fooled by his competitive fire(which is tops in the league), and leadership, he's just a decent QB. Pay him 50 mil and your chances at a super bowl go away.

Dudes a winner. There's no denying it.
Winner is a subjective term and means nothing, so sure.

You know who else is a winner? Tebow. Yup, it was smattered all over the media every day. It's like, they call a player a "winner" when they can't find much good to say about that player.

Darnold is taller and so he'll be better in the red zone, as well as being a more consistent passer. Either can win a super bowl, neither can win a super bowl at 50 mil per season.

they absolutely would have put up just as good as if not better than in 2025.
