You missed the point. He obviously knows the prospects because he can answer a question about any player.

It his rankings that are come from the feedback that he gets. If he only ranked based on his own film evaluation his rankings wouldn't vary so much from the beginning to the final.

None of the big name pundits do that. Mayock does it, they all do.

About the only ones you see who make grades and stick to it are the Twitter draftniks.

My favorite draft analyst was Wes Bunting. He disappeared last year and the word is that he got a job with and NFL team. His ranking would come out different than others but he seemed to really spend a lot of time reviewing all of the prospects.
And Wes Bunting's articles at NFP had horrible "big boards" that routinely had players not even in that draft.

That 20 on the Wonderlic is another red flag on Bridgewater. Below average for QB.

That is overrated. Marino scored in the mid teens.

I honestly think Bridgewater turned teams off with his attitude. He had an interview the other day where he talked about how he was meant for the big stage, wanted to be on the red carpet for the draft, showing his "smile". That comment turned me off. He did not sound much like a leader and far more about wanting the limelight.

Character is something that is rarely considered. And even relatively minor thing can turn teams off. It does not always make sense, but it absolutely happens. A prospect turns off one scout, who talks to another and another and suddenly the player slides. We already know the league is built off of connections and networking, rarely results.

You can go off tape. But that tape is based on the dynamic they were in at the time.

Character is why I would love to see and hear the interview process with these prospects. I would literally pay for that.

Are you and Risen actually the same person? One of you always follows the other in every thread. Usually within a short time frame.

As Jack Palance says in the movie Shane to the sod-buster: "Prove it".

It is a little difficult since they are not around anymore. If you know a way to find his posted deep big boards from previous years on NFP, be my guest to prove it to yourself.

But case in point, he had D.J. Coles, draft eligible this year, on his "big board" last year. Devin Street as well.

You had to go way deep into the board, but it was there.

Bunting wasn't any better than Rang, Brugler or any of the other internet/Twitter draftniks. Might have been around a little longer and little more outside the norm, but not any better.

He was not at NFP last year or this year. He was not the only guy with input to their board when he was there prior to the 2012 draft.

If only we lived in the days of the gunfighter...I missed my calling.

Coles was listed in the NFP big board in 2011. Devin Street was last season.

I get your point about him not being the only person with input on their board. They have DeVante Parker on there this year.

Now you're trying to compare bridgewater's physical tools with Marino's? Because physical tools with the right work ethic can overcome some mental issue's. Bridgewater doesn't have Marino's skills at all and definitely not enough to overcome low intelligence. I've also heard enough from Marino to believe that that score (if it actually is true) was a bad day... he was sick, didn't believe in the validity test, something... Marino is intelligent and could breakdown a defense from the day he stepped on an NFL field.

Tape don't lie.

And theeeen..... Mayock completely changed his tone, so maybe tape do lie. I watched Bridgewater a couple of times and came away completely unimpressed. I'm not sure what they use to calculate accuracy ratings but I saw receivers that were wide open have to dive to get the ball. Very rarely did he throw a tight spiral and didn't see good arm strength. He was ok and they won a bunch of games but they had horrible competition and like I said, he didn't show anything that made me go "Wow! I wish the Cowboys had him.".

I think him using gloves to throw is a BIG tell.

I respect all of the guys who do it year round. I can't possibly watch as much as they can so I'm going to have to rely to some degree on the opinions I respect.

What I don't respect is the Bryan Broaddus' of the world who don't even know the names of the prospects in January yet are fielding draft questions in March.

Don't care if he wears gloves.

He's a good QB.

Paralysis by analysis.

That explains why they were ranked 3rd then lol

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=330020057

7-1 in the SEC, 11-2 overall, ranked 3rd.

3 = 25...must be government math.

What year r u talking about? 3 yrs ago? The gators sucked this last year? And picking 1game does not validate strength for the rest of his schedule. I'm not even sure what you're trying to argue. R u trying to say he is the best qb in this draft or is worth a 1st round pick or both!? Because you would be awfully lonely still saying that. No one still believes he is a top flight qb except you. Say hi to him for us at your next family get together.: )
