Said he talked to teams and most are saying that Bridgewater is a 2nd round grade. He said he could not see a team taking Ealy in the first round. He thought Shazier will definitely will be taken in the first round. He thinks Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will be drafted higher than originally thought. Marquis Lee he saw slipping out of the first too.

It was a good Path to the Draft tonight.

Wow, take of Bridgewater's pro day was some of the worst I've ever seen. Still I'm glad Mayock reminded viewers that the Pro Days have caused teams to overdraft more often than underdraft...with JaMarcus Russell being exhibit A.

Has Bridgewater fallen tremendously or did teams ever view him as a top 5 franchise type QB? It would be unwise for a guy to slide this far for one bad day.

According to some, the media inflated Bridgewater all along and he was never considered the top prospect. I am a believer in letting the games speak for themselves, and since he was excellent, I have to laugh at the sudden 360 on him. Is he can't miss? No. Never was. But I still think he is superior to other QBs like Savage and especially McCarron etc. that are suddenly getting first round campaigning this late in the process, especially since the games have been there all along to view.

I think Bridgewater's interviews have contributed to doing him in. Still a good prospect for somebody, though.

Later in the show, Casserly pointed out the obvious mistake that causes the worst busts; drafting a player earlier to fit a need.

Some trivia here...even after 4 years I the league, only 50% of 2nd rounders become starters! That's right...only 1/2 of 2nd rounders ever come close to meeting expectations.

So those doing mocks and expecting g to plug I that 2nd rounder...careful with that.

Didnt we see Tajh Boyd in some of the earliest mocks in the first round?
I havent heard a peep about him in a long time.
What happened?

Couldn't agree more.

Bridgewater is a still a stud. I have seen every throw and couldn't be more convinced that this kid will succeed. But there's a ton of reasons why he could fall and it's very upsetting. I won't go too much into it, but whoever drafts him will be very, very happy.

Great post. Completely agree. Honestly, and I know it'll never in a billion years happen... but if we bailed out of 16 and dropped into the 20's and selected Bridgewater (along with adding another pick), I would be THRILLED.

I think the lack of elite physical tools weighed heavier on the minds of NFL scouts than was understood by the media, and then he failed to impress at the pro day. And there you have it. Thing is I personally don't put that kind of stock in physical measurements for a QB (look at Romo, Brees, Wilson, heck he's about the same size as Rodgers coming out) or in pro day workouts. I think he's a sure fire top half of the league starting QB, and with our guy being 34 and with 2 back surgeries in the last 10 months... heck yeah I'd take Teddy B. Rare opportunity to take a grossly undervalued franchise QB if you ask me.

I am no ta big fan of Bridgewater but in that Gruden QB thingy I saw him get hit so hard - but he got back up

don't know how he will turn out as a pro

Agreed, completely.

I've followed Bridgewater since his Freshman year and this kid was for Louisville what Andrew Luck was for Stanford. Field general, made every throw in the book on a regular basis, intelligent, charismatic, humble, leader, and one tough SOB (sugar bowl and Rutgers circa 2012, played with a broken wrist and sprained ankle).

He consistently improved throughout his collegiate career and capped it off with a brilliant bowl game against Miami. 60 TDs to 12 INTs in his final two seasons operating a pro style offense. This kid is going to be a stud at the next level, and if he does fall he's gonna make a lot of people look foolish.

Nonsense. The glove. Don't forget about it. It makes him. Or something.

There was Heisman hype and that was about it. He doesn't have good size and has never demonstrated an accurate arm. He is not fast even if he is quick. Clemson ran a lot of shallow crossing routes, screens, smokes, flares and the like to get Watkins the ball. I hate college spread offense but when Boyd was asked to stand and scan he has never been effective.

Maybe you saw someone anticipating Boyd's development. It never happened.

Manziel, Bridgewater and Bortles are 1,2,3 or 1a, 1b, 1c, they all give that "Franchise QB vibe" to a top 8 Team. Nothing has changed since the Season ended. Carr is a distant 4th in the 3 year evaluation process that has transpired.

If Teddy falls to the 2nd round, I would not be upset at all if Dallas made a play to get him. We need to be thinking about our QB future now instead of when Romo cracks due to health reasons.

Donald in the 1st, Bridgewater in the 2nd......I would be ecstatic even if Teddy turns out to be a dud.
