I actually would be fine with getting Franklin in the third, I think as far as just talent level he is on par with Demarco.

How do you think Jeremy Parnell compares to the 2nd/3rd wave of OT's in this draft. Assuming we won't have a chance at one of the big 3 OT, if the coaches feel he is close in talent or development I suspect we won't draft a tackle this year. Sign Clabo or Winston if they feel JP is close and needs a little more time. I'm sure this is no revelation on this board (been discussed over and over) just wondering how you guys thought he stacked up compared to the likes of
Fluker
Watson
Armstead
Long
Williams (UNC)
Faulk
Freigal
And others??

i think it will come do to Williams or Vacarro @ 18 (assuming both guards go before 18).I think a trade down looks appealing at this point and JJ will definitely be thinking the same.

The Cowboys supposedly have 17 players on their board with a first round grade. This likely limits their ability to trade down because they will probably not want to miss out on one of these players.

If Franklin is there in the third I'd have the card to the front before the pick before us is announced. I'm not even that hot on getting a RB before round 5 this year, but that represents too much value. It's Jason Witten all over again.

If this is how it falls at #18 I'd get Werner or Datone and not bat an eye. Sly worries me, but I'm no scout.

Love Franklin, but agree that taking a RB that early is not ideal. He's BPA though and it is a postion of need.

I think Sly Williams will be good, btw.

If you look at this first group of five players, many mocks have them selected in the first 17 picks, so if this does happen like many experts are picking, someone is going to fall. I believe one of our 4 Richardson, Vaccaro, Warmack, or Cooper will fall to 18.

19. Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
20. Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
21. Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
30. Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
35. Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

This second group of player have a less probability of cracking the top 17 but several do have a small chance. If any of these players do crack the top 17, then that means there is even more possibility that one of the 4 we like will be there at 18.

41. EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State
42. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson
43. Matt Barkley, QB, USC
44. Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
50. Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse

It is a crap shot, but I am willing to bet 3 if not 4 of the first 5 will crack the top 17 come draft day.
