Mayweather vs Ortiz

Anyone else watch this fight? Ortiz got schooled for 3 rounds, then in the 4th round, he had Mayweather on the ropes and then lunged at him with his head. The ref stopped the action, but after the Mayweather said he was ok to continue, the ref waived the fighters on. So Ortiz is acting all apologetic for the headbutt, but Mayweather catches him with a two piece combo while Ortiz's hands were down and knocks him out. That was probably the craziest ending to I fight I have ever seen.

Yeah i ordered it and missed the live KO. I left to snag a plate of wings and came back to a concluded fight. Bummer. Notice how Floyd bailed before the Manny question could be asked?

What a cheap shot by Mayweather. He has no clue about sportsmanship or class. Why, in the world did Mayweather want to assualt Larry Merchent after the fight? I cant believe i wasted 50 bones on this crap. Im done with boxing, UFC is ran so much better.

I read that Mayweather will get 25M just for fighting and after it's all said and done he could take home another 15M from splitting the revenue from concessions and stuff like that.

Looked to me like Ortiz was trying to lunge his head into Mayweather's face throughout the round. Then he succeeded, and it really pissed off Mayweather, who retaliated with his own cheap shot. The thing is, Ortiz should have noticed how enflamed Mayweather was and been looking out for it.

I see where you are coming from, but Ortiz did just headbutt him on purpose, and even though he was apologizing, the ref had waived them back into action and you must protect yourself at all times. Ortiz had to find out the hard way.

BS. Obviously you didnt watch the fight live. I did. Ortiz hugged Floyd like 3-4 times to apologize before that last one. There was no need to hug again. After you touch gloves, fight is on. That's all on Ortiz. The ref backed away to begin the fight and Floyd took advantage like any other fighter that was paying attention would have. You have to protect yourself at all times.

All of you would take a shot to knock out your opponent if you had it. Floyd took it.

Headbutt or not, it was complete bull****. Ortiz was penalized for it, and was apologizing, even more than he needed to. Mayweather took a cheap *** shot and knocked him out. Mayweather is supposed to be a promoter, what is he going to tell fans? 60 bucks for 4 rounds and a cheap knock out? Screw that.

Ortiz brought it on himself though, still Mayweather was winning and "the best" dont need cheap shots to be the best.

I couldn't hear a damn thing but it was pretty obvious (to me) that Mayweather wanted Merchant to hold his hands out as if he was going to hug him and beg forgiveness right before he slipped him the ol' one-two upside his pie hole in a repeat performance.:

Yeah he didn't need that. It was obvious Mayweather was in another class and would've eventually knocked him out anyway.

What does it matter how many times he hugged him? He looked like a fool trying to hug him and kiss him all day but that doesn't change the fact that he was hit just as he was stepping back from his last apology.

Whether or not all the euphemisms in the world say he should have been ready to resume, the fact of the matter is he wasn't and Floyd hit him with a cheap shot. The dude wasn't ready and the ref wasn't ready.

It goes down as a win and is well within the rules but by any rational person's standards, including the entire HBO staff's, it was a cheap shot.
