Sugar Ray Leonard. I am tired of hearing Mayweather is undefeated and should be considered the best. If the time was a time warp. Sugar Ray would have destroyed him. Don't think so Leonard destroyed Floyd Mayweather's Dad.

Prime Sugar Ray would have KO'd or beaten by points prime May. Prime May wouldn't have fought prime Ray, tho.

That was back when boxing was fun to watch. Sure there were politics and payoffs but back then most of the good fighters fought the other good fighters.

Back in the day Manny and Mayweather would have fought before they were at the end of their boxing days.

Of course I could just remember it better. I just know I used to love watching boxing but then it turned into I am not fighting this or that guy unless they bring cash instead of fighting who was the best.

With that said..there were still stinker fights even back then when some heavy weights would tire out after a round or two and basically just clench in the middle of the ring for part of the fight and slowly dance around in circles for the other part of the fight.

What was fun to watch though was someone who was basically an unknown or lower rung guy would give it everything he had in the ring and either shock a well known figher and win or come close.

I think I like MMA so much better because there are more of those guys that give it their all compared to just playing it safe. A Guy Like Clay Guida who might not be the best and would come up short in some big matches but the kid was non stop the whole match and when you watched him fight you knew the kid gave everything he had and did not hold anything back.

What the heck does him beating Floyd's dad have to do with anything?

Want to know why the Cowboys will win the super bowl this year?

Because it's the year of the rooster in the Chinese zodiac

I agree 70s & 80s was a Golden Time!!! So many good boxers...... I think Hearns and Hagler definitely would have beaten Mayweather. Camacho & Duran would have took him to the limit. Even guys like Wilfredo Benitnez might slip by Mayweather..... Heaveyweights were awesome.Every division had good fighters.

Look at how his father fought. He fights the same with his left shoulder as a shield and Sugar Ray roasted his Father and would have done the same to Big Mouth Jr.... Also no bs knockouts like when he fought that Spanish fighter who was trying to be polite after a low blow and trying to give a respectful hug as a fair fighter and Mayweather took the punk way and cheapshot him. Mayweather should have been disqualified for that fight.

Sure. You couldn't run from them. Masters at cutting the right. Big hitters...couldn't get away with arm punching or trying to tie them up...
I remember watching John Mugabi his record at the time I believe was like 24 wins and 0 losses with 24 knockouts. He destroyed and ESPN Hero Boxer Vampire Johnson. I remember he actually lifted him off the floor with a hook and Vampire looked terrified and told the referee he quits.

Roger Mayweather... The Black Mamba??? Yeah Roger Mayweather was good but he didn't fight many top tier fighters.
Yeah...he had a lot of fights and later in his career he fought a lot of average boys...earlier, he held a couple of titles and beat Bramble...lost a couple to Chaves. Had some decent fights but lost to most of the big name boys he fought. Beat Brazier and Pazienza...lost one to Tszyu.
