Mac, Yes Mazi was double teamed to keep him away from the ball carrier, but what you didn't mention was that double team on Mazi shorted Jax on blockers for their RB. Consequently 2 Cowboy defenders closed in on the RB and held him to what appeared to about 1 yd gain. Wow! Lets double team Mazi so we can get a 1 yd gain?
That's what Mazi does, he makes the other Cowboys around him better. They have to double team him which takes pressure off of other defenders like our LBs.
Say what you like, but Mazi was a great 1st round pick.
What? There was a blocker for every defensive player still, nobody was running free.

The run didn't work because Osa crossed face and the LB (Overshown, I think) beat the LT at the second level. Mazi was pushed so far back that Clark wouldn't have been able to get there if the RB cut back behind 72.

How can you tell an apple tree is actually an apple tree? ( whistling.........) Answer: By the fruit it produces. Another way of saying the cliche, talk is cheaper, show it.

When the Cowboys drafted Mazi, the sell job was " he is a great athlete". The Cowboys will coach the NFL into him. Well, a meanless preseason game and training camps, the Dallas Cowboys staff is not producing the fruit they were selling....so far. The staff couldn't do it with John Ridgeway after selling him when he was drafted. Dallas cut him and was picked up by the Commanders, who is a starters for them now.
Not giving up on Mazi, nor did he have a bust game, but being a #1 pick, the 1st showing was somewhat yawning.

And your 2nd round pick --right now --- looks like your 3rd string TE.

Want to see why Dallas can't sniff a NFC Conference game in 30 years, the groceries are bought from ALDI store
(Side note: OL was B-A-D and if just one starter goes down, look out )

When it comes to Ridgeway and Mazi, Jerry Dumbo GM Jones would not know a football player if the player bit him in the arse.

Mazi played well for missing a practice and the DC playing him into cardio shape. He is not a pass rushing 12 sack DT. His job is to stop the run and stop the trend of teams running it down the Cowboys defense throat.

Starting? Man, you need to do better research!!!

The starting DT's for WASH are Allen and Payne. Phidarian Mathis got hurt in game one last season, and he's the primary backup this year. There's a good chance Ridge gets cut.

And he did a stellar job of that in the 1st half until he got tired.

#1: He needs to get in tiptop shape.
#2: W/ Hankins on the roster, he won't be playing near as much as he did this last game.

Good one. It's easy to be sure of myself when correct, and when there's very easy video to watch to show it.

You can't admit that the game is different than it was 30 years ago, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, but you're not narrowminded. Sure. "The value of a DT is unquantifiable"...but so is snake oil.
It is just weird that you are sitting here claiming victory over one play that he was doubled and was moved 3 yards.

In his first game and in a game he played more than he ever will this year.

But keep taking that victory lap.
