Mazi or Guyton, who are you ready to go to battle with?

Thank you for the concern! Real life happened this morning and I'm cranky because I didn't get my normal breakfast of champions because of it.
Sorry to hear this, hope things are getting better. You've bashed me once, I'm feeling the love, keep it up!!!!

@DallasEast he's here!!! (See "Morning breakfast!") lol I told ya!!

Given the choice between these two I'm running the other way or surrendering

Good info here... so both are still really young, and probably should have stayed in college for another year, but here we are. I liked the growth I saw from Mazi more than the falloff I saw from Guyton last year.
when you are six inches high instead of five feet another six inches of growth is nothing to brag about

Why let go a 1st round pick with a rookie contract?
If he sucks he sucks regardless of draft slot/contract.
I mean San Francisco didn't delay the inevitable on their mistake of Trey Lance.
They owned up to it and moved on.

Dallas did it with Taco.
Would you rather continue watching Mazi suck or be pro active and get an "actual" run stopping 1 tech?

I’m ready to go with both. They both need to play and develop because this roster is still behind Philly and Washington. Our off seasons are always about being competitive, not about being great. Even if Dak plays well, this roster does not look like a playoff team to me. One can only hope.

Our front seven is still a question mark; our secondary is recovering from injuries; and our offense still has only 1 playmaker, Lamb. So we are either hoping to land 2 playmakers at WR and RB in the draft and have them play like veterans, or the offense will still have the worst offensive weapons in the NFL…..and that’s before any discussion or blaming of the QB.

If I have to pick one, Guyton. But at RT. Nothing wrong with a first round RT who can play LT in a pinch.

he sure as hell sucked us in with that "I don't like football I just like to HIT people line!"
And i dont even see him hitting people.

It looks more like : "hey who are you? Lets have a sit, tea and a good chat".

The guy is not an athlete. Couch potato. He should play football on a console exclusivley.

Heck, i just saw a small Video of Erik Williams. The way he abused reggie white.

What an embarrassement these guys are to real football: Mica, DFlaw, Dak, mazi, Guyton and all those wanne be tough guys. Just put them all in a bag and hit it with a bat. You wont hit no wrong guy.

Both are certainly rough around the edges. Mazi in his 3rd year has to make that jump.To be fair to him his having to adjust weight and position caused a setback for Mazi. Guyton was always gonna be a time consuming investment from the jump. He is a right tackle forced to play left tackle. Couldn't they at least play him there before deciding his best position? Not enough time to experiment perhaps. He's got the talent he has to get maturity and that comes faster for some than others and can't be coached.

I would definitely have more hope for Guyton. There were times he showed up well, but definitely had his ups and downs last season.

Mazi has 2 years experience now and more than likely we've seen enough to know his ceiling is probably average DT. Though he showed improvement he needs to get off the line quicker. Hopefully we'll see him take a step forward this year, but time is ticking.

Mazi was a first round pick…the Cowboys’ shouldn’t be waiting for the light bulb to come on in Year 3…
Guyton is coming into his second-year after sustaining a few injuries during his rookie year…hoping he does some work in the gym to get stronger and refine his technique.
I’m ambivalent, but would probably go with Guyton.

Lots of question marks for both players, one has been in the league a few more years, both have the potential to be solid players in the league. With that said, they've struggled as first round picks, but we shouldn't write them off and continue to be patient.

With that said, which player would you pick to go to battle with?? Please give your thoughts

Please refrain from all negative attacks as this is clearly stated in the rules of this forum!

I think both of these young men were asked to change there positions , which they might not have been ready to do
Mazi was told to cut weight ( more of a 3 Tech ) and Guyton moved from rt to lt
won’t say either is a bust but if I had to stick with one it’s Guyton
The one thing that keeps coming back to me is Mazi comments after he was drafted
He really liked hitting people more than playing football

Impression is Guyton penalty issue was the problem much like T Smith his first year.
Mazi is adequate

I'm not going to battle with either one of them both too big to fit in my foxhole.
Give me a guy who puts out 100% effort like Hoffman

Guyton. At least he has the physical skillset to be a quality starting OLT. Mazi is a bust.
