I watched him some also. He is very very slow off the ball. He is powerful enough to stand his ground when the sloth gets engaged but its 1-2 yards down field from where it needs to be.

I made a point to watch Mazi this last game, and man, that guy is so slow off the snap. Other guys are engaging with lineman before he even gets out of his stance.

It's been this way all along. There's been a lot of excuses made for him, but I've never seen anything like it, everyone else moving with one guy still in his stance.

Was it ever confirmed that the Cowboys asked him to drop weight? With DQ wanting to develop him as a pass rusher I would believe it to be true, although the extent he lost weight seems odd to me. WIth some of the mental health rumors and just odd situations from Mazi's rookie year I didnt know what was actually happening there.

He did and I don’t think he struggled because of playing 3T. He just wasn’t NFL ready.

Yeah even those games Hankins was out and he had to play 1T he was up and down. I think he needed reps in the worst way and probably a full offsesaon to get his body right.

Did I miss a point here I mean you post up some snap counts and I don't really care we won the game our defense is played better and our defensive line has played better the last two games and in our three Rd. games they've done their job... But you wanna blame someone for something which I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at here I don't really care that would be Mike Zimmer and the rest of the defensive staff that's it period end of story this kids never gonna be a dynamic nose tackle he's never gonna be a superstar but he's improving he's better that's all I care about the fact is he shouldn't be playing so many snaps at three tech or other positions he's a nose tackle but the fact is he's not complaining they're moving him around and it is what it is I don't get it who cares about one player that's a nose tackle that will never build a stat sheet to satisfy this fan base because they think he should be Aaron Donald and he's not even playing the same position he's not gonna show out most games... So he's gonna end up being a forever role player never a stud I mean I remember guys who were unaccepted around here they say was a Jag or they say was a bust nobody like Malik Collins he left he was talked about much in the same manner as we talk about gallimore and Malik Collins goes on to have free NFL career after he leaves here, most people did not want him here..FACT

If he is the HC he better be coaching defense. He at the very least should be signing off on game plans ahead of time. If he isn't making himself part of the planning meetings, installs, and film reviews that's on him for neglecting it.

Sort of, but any HC who completely hands off one side of the ball should be fired right away. MM has both an OC and a DC, his primary job is to make sure both are prepared.

He's done better with it at times this season, but it may always be an issue for him. He has no snap anticipation, so he has to rely on his strength to win the battle up front. He's doing a better job of that this year, but it's going to bite him at times.

Yeah I think you did miss the point on this one. The OP is basically saying that Mazi was misused last season and is getting more stability staying at 1T this year which is allowing him to get better.

What argument lol? I didn’t make an argument. My point was last time we seen Quinn’s unit they sucked. And his unit in Washington sucks. His best performance came against the Browns and people said Browns sucked when we faced them.
