Seeing the young players play is the best part of watching the games right now.

I still am skeptical about Mazi. But if he does continue to develop and get better. It sure would help in the long run.
For the pick we spent on him it would obviously be great if he were dominant

But at this point I think most of us would settle for consistently productive. He's not there yet but he's showing signs.....

Next year from the first day of camp we'll know what Mazi will be in his career.

I did too. But the haters will be out.
The “haters”?

Dude Mazi so far has been a garbage can. PFFs lowest rated DT in the league,

I’m glad to see he had a good game but let’s get serious; all criticism of Mazi has been warranted

I think he had his best game as a pro today. He was more disruptive in the NY game, however Washington has a much strong interior OL. Hopefully he keeps building. He has a favorable matchup this week with NY again
He needs to start stringing these types of games together, instead of having them far and few between................

He had a good game but the bar is low for Mazi at this point. I thought I saw more effort from him than usual yesterday. He got off some blocks even it was a second or two late. He is definitely getting better. He looks like an average DT right now. If he continues to improve he might be a keeper next year.

Golston and Odighizuwa look pretty good too. Golston is more versatile, but both are free agents after this year. Dallas will keep only one I imagine. Maybe neither. They need to draft two DL this year.

I'm not ready to give Mazi any sort of pass yet. He seemed to have played "ok" against an average defense.

Butler, Mazi, OSA, Chauncy played huge. Lewis was great again except he fell asleep on the long td. Mazi showed alot in this game. They couldn't block him.

I agree bro.

We need so much help that I would be happy if he even just continued to develop into “solid starter” territory.

I don’t think the odds are in Mazi’s favor at this point….. but late bloomers do happen sometimes. So fingers crossed.

gotta remember that Jethros cheerleaders never want to admit the boys got anything wrong until the player is cut
same with the homer crowd

Let's be real, he looked better than any CB we have played with all year, in this one game. If he can do this every week, we found something. Diggs tends to gamble too much then refuses to tackle. This kid is unafraid.
Butler really surprised me. Not many pleasant surprises this year

What if we have a new DC. And everyone needs to learn a different scheme again?
For a lineman, it is not as important which scheme there is
you keep making excuses but unless a floodlight comes on Mazi Smith will never be worth his pick

Not making any excuses. I asked a simple question about a new DC that applies to the entire defense. I did not say if that will make him improved or not.
But take it as you will, and keep on raging away.
