Mazi has in my opinion looked awful in both preseason games. For all the touting his size, strength, and so on just dont see it here. He is pushed around willy nilly on the line and dont believe this is befitting a first round draft pick. I am predicting a bust of Taco proportions here. Just one of the worst pics in Cowboys history. And now with the possibility of Overshown being gone for the season a disastrous 2023 draft. We cannot get to the next level with misses like these and that has been the history in Dallas.

Mazi looks good in practice. He holds up at point of attack. Clogs the middle. With front line LB's to clean up in the regular season, you will not be able to make such comments. The LB's and DB's last night are not your starters and were overruning the plays and not cleaning up as required.

Mazi's strength and push look fine.. stay with me here and this is the big point... He has to work on his technique.. I know its a shocker that a rookie needs to know more than "See ball get ball" when he comes into the NFL but amazingly enough the diference between NCAA blocking schemes and NFL's is huge. How many NCAA OG/C combo's do you think are around that have the talent to reach block Mazi? Kid's gonna be fine now he is learning how to read the tells of whats comming at him in the NFL.

Mazi sure doesn’t look like a starter. Pretty shocking how bad he’s looked so far. Coaches have their work cut out to save this draft class.
That's how most DTs work when they get drafted. They don't show up for a year or two. I don't know why this surprises people. Vita Vea sucked in his rookie year. It took Quinnen Williams the better part of two years before he started playing as expected. That's to be expected from a DT.

I don't know if he's one of the biggest busts in history but reality is, seeing your first round pick not hit the ground running and instead look like a long term development project is disappointing. Teams count on their first rounders making some impact. The Cowboys ignored FA at DT because they were banking on Smith making an impact.

It's just disappointing at this point. Now hopefully with more game reps he gets better. But right now, he looks sluggish off the line, seems easily pushed around, etc.

Lol, Mazi just running around out there right now looking like a mansquatch.
You scheme true 1 techs during real games, but you keep them moving around in meaningless action.
MP loves Mazi.

In fairness, I believe Quennin Williams got hurt his rookie year early (ankle or knee) and it hampered him much of the year.

Thought I knew you better than this.

Thank you for validation what is obvious to most viewers. Sometime fans are impervious to bad news. But just look at him on the line. His strength is touted as legendary and he is pushed around like a rag doll by second teamers.

If you see some promise in this supposedly strongest man as touted, then let me know.

Yeah since first round picks are developmental players most the time. When did you start watching NFL football?
Most DTs not named Aaron Donald are. Did you take a look at Q. Williams contract he signed? You think he got that from his first 2 years? The only other option is to not draft a DT in the first round. Half you guys in here, "that watch football", would have traded Vita Vea after 1 year.

You did not see Mazi being blown off the line???? I must be hallucinating. He has been touted as this physical strength monster. Im not seeing it. Dallas has a longs history of picking disasters at Dline. It continues with Mazi.
