Has anyone done an all-22 review of Mazie Smith’s play in this game?

I won't get up or down by some review from that game for him. Especially on 17 snaps.
Let's give him some more games and depending the situation and circumstances.

Need a much bigger body (no pun intended) of work and against different teams and their style of offense.

Broaddus said he was up in down in his 17 snaps. Same issues as pre-season. Still slow off the ball and played high at times were the negative reviews. Said he isn't improving much as far as snap anticipation.

Saw him early in the game. Then he wasn't noticable. And didn't hear his name mentioned.
Don't know if that's good or bad.

Well, I for one, do not go by what this guy says.
I don't really either. There's a reason he is in the media and not working in the NFL. I was just reporting it, I didn't notice Mazi either. He was just doing a 22 review. Doesn't seem complicated for 17 snaps.

I guess the fact he only got 17 snaps is a little concerning (in a beatdown). Could've used the work I would think?

Yeah that is a little surprising come to think about it. I did not look at it that way.
I guess they really want to ease him in. Only game 1 though.

You have to give him some time to get up to speed. Once he gets his head around things, he's pretty knowledgable. Sometimes, he improvises. But he's had his head in the game for a while now. I give him the benefit if the doubt but don't always agree with him.

Looks like they rotated a lot. Not sure why he needs to anticipate the snap. He is standing over the ball. Once they are set at the line he just needs to watch the ball. Center can’t move it or it’s a flag. As soon as that ball moves then go. Lol. Easy to say I guess..

You'd think it would be the first thing they get down at that position. Just a hair off and they are toast, don't care how strong they are!

Broaddus is good when he does straight up reporting. However when he throws in player evaluations is where he loses me. It seems to me he was wrong much more than right.
Also IMO he lets his emotions get in the way of that. If he likes or dislikes a player, he will let that sway his judgment for whatever his reasons are. You know, like many do on here.

He's alright, I learn some things from him as i am not in that industry but I do as you said, take some of the things he says with a grain of salt. If he doesn't like a player, he holds it even if they end up being an all pro. LOL

I don't know about all his plays, but on the play where Jones fumbled what looked like was going to be a hand-off, Mazi D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-E-D his blocker. So even if Jones did not fumble, the play wasn't going anywhere unless Mazi just completely whiffed on Jones or the RB.

Again, only 1 of 17 plays, but he won that one pretty easily.

It seems he is currently better eating double teams but gets stuck to his blocker on 1 v 1s. It will be interesting to see if Quinn puts him in those situations more often while he sorts out his quickness off the snap and hand placement issues.

I watched him as much as I could with all the rotations, not the all-22 just the live broadcast. No epiphanies here - he's a strong dude, but I think he still plays way too high for a NT which is why he occasionally gets flushed out despite his strength, but that should be easily fixable.
