I noticed he was double teamed often. He also got into the face of the QB on a rush up the middle (while still being blocked) and almost batted down the pass. It was a throw to the right side.
Yeah that play stood out to me as well. I really like how he threw the OG to the ground. I didn't notice what Broaddus was claiming.

He was always going to need some work but the one thing that keeps coming up that we've now heard from multiple sources is his slow get off. And that concerns me. Hopefully he's just still kind of feeling his way around.

I was hoping for more playing time for him considering the loaded diaper the Giants delivered.

I noticed Mazi a couple times pushing his man back towards the pocket. Hankins definitely flashed more in both the run and pass game, for whatever that's worth.

Didn’t play much but honestly he really wasn’t needed. Giants had to keep trying to pass if they was going to try and catch up. Also bad weather game. Let’s see if he can get into a groove against a more balanced offensive attack in normal weather conditions. Still have tons of confidence in the rook.

We had a problem stopping the run on the first drive. The rest of the game was a disaster, for the Giants. so I don’t know.

I went back and watched the game again. And again. I keyed on 58. Small sample but his best game against a good OL. This might surprise the haters but with 11, 90, 54, 56, 92 screaming off the edges Mazi wasn’t double teamed. Guess what? He bull dogged guys. Now his get off was inconsistent and he tends to play with his pads high so those need work. I trust he was more of a read and react guy in college so firing off the snap will need to be taught but even the haters must admit he is a powerhouse. 17 plays is limited so I wonder how he does with 50 snaps. Still Mazi is a nice piece of clay to work with. I predict he becomes a beast.

I think its gonna click for him at some point. I just don't think its gonna be this season and realistically it never was which is why it was so important to bring back Jonathan Haskins.

How long do y'all think it will take for Mazi to get his techniques right?

He was pretty good week 1. Like really good. So you think late first rounders should just step in and dominate?
Not at all, everyone is different and the trenches cannot take some time. Just wondering when do you see things clicking for him.
