After watching tons of NFL Films and Documentaries on RB's, Barber reminds me of a mixture of Earl Cambell, Walter Payton, and Jim Brown......your thoughts??
I agree... Barber possesses all of the best qualities of three of the greatest RBs of all time.

Side note... I think they're also going to outlaw the RB putting the head down. MB3 did it at the goalline yesterday and flattened Leber, I think it was. It was beautiful and violent at the same time, and since he's a Cowboys, it will be illegal. Something about the RB seeking helmet to helmet contact.

Pretty sure it's the latter. I believe it's even legal to grab the facemask when you're the ball carrier.

Emmitt was called for facemask when a defender tried to tackle him. Emmitt stiff armed him in the face and was flagged.

I don't think they will make it into a rule but I wouldn't doubt it if they entertained the discussion to do it.

Realistically, it is almost like Barber is throwing punches because he isn't just putting his hand against their helmet and pushing them to keep them off, Barber is taking several swings in a row at their head. I would not want to see any defender get a concussion because they are just trying to push him out of bounds. But, while it is legal I can't fault him for doing it.

I can't take it anymore. This is sis FOOTBALL. They can't make a stiff arm illegal.

Well they made the horse collar rule. Why not this? I think the horse collar rule is one of the worst to come along in a looong time. Its getting to the point where we might as well put flags on the players.

I don't have a problem with the horse collar, but football is dangerous so it's kind of nit picky. The rules I have problem with is all these they have for QB's and how and where you can hit them. Those need to go without a doubt.

The rules to protect the QB's aren't going anywhere, unfortunately. Too much money invested at the position.

Agreed. QBs are where you spend the most money and where you can go from a team with Superbowl aspirations to a team looking for an early first round pick.

I doubt they're going to outlaw that. It's a hard stiff arm but as long as he isn't using a fist to use that move, they won't make it illegal. I remember a game a long time ago where Kellen Winslow (senior) actually threw a punch instead of a stiff arm. The refs called that one and that's what is illegal....
