MBIII: Marion Barber

:laugh2: c'mon Yeagerbomb, stop joking.

I'm dead serious and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. Before the quad injury this past season he looked like the MBIII we know and love. He was never 100% after that.

I agree with this. He was back and running with that authority before the injury and he never really recovered from it. I believe the situation was mishandled and they shouldn't have kept sending him out and split up the carries involving Choice.

I do agree they shouldn't have sent him out when he was hurt. He should have sat out until he was healthy.

Should we use him as trade bait? Now before anyone tosses insults at me. Think about this every since his been converted to the feature back his numbers has declined immensely. I still love MBIII and would like for this to happen but the Jerome Bettis ( and alike ) are over. THOUGHTS?

I think most fans over-value what MBIII can get u in a trade. Teams are releasing hall of fame type running backs (Tomlinson, etc.) because they exhibited Barber qualities....they hit a wall where the body doesn't was same hits game after game. The league is flush with "possibly" over-the-hill running backs. Dallas would get no more than 4th to 5th rounder for Barber. He is better to keep on roster and reduce his carries to keep him fresh.

I don't know if you'd be able to get any compensation at all for Marion Barber III's father.

The daily get rid of Barber thread?
Where is the get rid of RW thread?

No, I am not saying get rid of MB3 just playing with the idea. What would our possibilities be. IMTO I think he should be place back on the closer and stay there. They league isn't built for this type Rbs anymore. Just about everyone is using the 3 rbs just to keep them healthy.

Barber isn't going anywhere! We just have to use him better. They should break it down with Jones getting 60% of the carries and the other 2 split the rest.

I was for trading or cutting him at the end of the season, but I think Barber will regain his old form. He's not a featured back, but him coupled with Felix will be a deadly combination. If he regains his ferocious running style he'll be fine. It's just up to Jason to use both of them correctly

I can honestly say that one of the worst things about being a cowboys fan is the fans. There is no such thing as loyalty. The man busts his *** year after year and gets hurt running hard for this team. He wants to play so bad for this team that he is willing to play hurt. If you want to scream and yell and blame someone blame the coaches for not resting him. The man has one bad year running hurt for YOUR football team and hes not showing the numbers you want so we better get him the hell outta here.

I don't know why in the hell any player would want to play for a team with these kind of fans. I stand behind Barber and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because of what he has done for my team. I will not turn my back on someone with that much heart. If we were to get rid of barber because of an injury filled year It would be one of my saddest days as a cowboy fan.

I completely agree with this post. He has been the heart of this offense for 3 seasons now! No one plays harder than he does on that side of the ball!

I agree I think some fans are way too quick to holler cut a player or release him thankfully these people are not in charge. If Dallas released or traded every player fans complain about at one time or another we would be back to the 5-11 or worse. Many fans do not have a clue what the word patient means their view is no more than how a player is doing right now.

Or they judge a player on 1 play in an entire season and act as if that describes the player such as Jenkins poor tackle at the end of 2008, you would have thought Jenkins was the worst player in the league but with an off season and time to develop Jenkins showed this past season that he is a true difference maker for this team.

+1. Fortunately, our front office --the front office that so often gets vilified by the same idiot fans-- does understand loyalty.

There's no harm in a player getting replaced in an honest competition with another player, but the anger and disrespect many Cowboy fans show when their juvenile expectations aren't met is way beyond the bounds of rational behavior.
