Hard to believe that he was actually out-kicked by D. Frost.

...is a tough stat to use for judging the punter because it can drop significant;y if you are inside the opponent's territory and you want to pin him deep inside the 20.

I usually use the longest punt stat and the # of kicks downed inside the 20 for good measure.

There Mat did well with a 61 yarder and two downed punts inside the 20. It should have been 3 downed punts, but Reeves lost the handle on the third at the one yard line.

I'd say right now he's punting as well as anybody. Mike Scifres is probably his only competition. A lot of people praise Shane Lechler, but his punts are easily returnable and he sucks at getting punts inside the 10, much less the 20 yard line.

It seems like last year they wanted McBriar to get more hangtime and this year they are just letting him boom it deep. He's had some issues with consistency and tends to struggle on punts into a strong wind. But if he keeps booming them like he has been, he should be an All Pro.

he is a weapon. but if you watch his punts i don't think he will ever be able to kickoff. he has an odd style of punting in that his knee is bent when he kicks. works well on punts but thats where the drive on k.o. comes from is the leg drive and you can't do that with your knee bent
