It’s hard enough trying to find a proven HC to come into this dysfunctional organization. You basically are left with those whose phone isn’t ringing elsewhere.

But if Jethro starts firing back to back 12 game winning playoff coaches then the list will become even smaller.

His biggest regret in coaching moves this era already is firing Gailey after back to back playoff appearances cause he finished 8-8. He’s not going to do it again. I guarantee it.

Especially not after 12 win playoff seasons. One in which you lost your starting QB and most thought the season was over. I’d argue this has been MM best coaching season here.

I understand fans frustration if we are one and done again but there’s too much to build on here. We just need to try to win division again so we get a home field playoff game .

And making it to 3 playoff seasons could be the first time since 90’s . The more often you get in the more likely to finally break thru. But ultimately our talent has to be enough.

The only way Mike will be on the hot seat is if it is an embarrassing loss Monday night……..kind of like last weeks performance. Even then, I think he is safe for another season.

if we win in Tampa , Mac will be guaranteed to return . If we dont , the manner of loss may decide whether Jerry pulls the trigger or not.

I still say Jerry will give him the full length of his contract and just not resign him if this goes south. Much like Garrett after his 25th year, or at least it seemed that long. So doubt he will be fired.

MM is here for 2023 season regardless of what happens.
He has what 2 years left, as that is about when they can dump Dak and Zeke and DLaw as well.

MM will be back. Hard to fire a coach with his record. You could say he overachieved this year. After the first game we all thought the season was over. The Cowboys have a habit of sliding after Thanksgiving and it's happened for 27 years. to be continued.....

I just don’t see another coach that is better. I love Payton but that’s because I love his offense. He’s changed a lot since he was the OC here. That would be the only reason I would want him as I’m sick of this offense.

Mike is a good coach. We just need better players and that’s on the FO.

He won’t fire Big Mike for anybody. But he’ll fire him for Sean Payton.

Yeah, MM isn't the problem here. Our $40 million dollar pick-six machine is where we are falling short. The current OC and QB coach are not fixing this. Those are the jobs that should be on the line.

MM, Dak, Zeke, and Dlaw should all go around at the same time.
Well, the issue is, Jerry and his loyalty. We know cap hit wise they need at least one or 2 more years to lessen that. However that will also lessen what can happen in FA, not just for keeping their own players, such as Pollard, but also any other FA, which they do not do anyway.

So we know restructures are coming, to extend those contracts, to gain cap space. However, are they smart enough (also the players must agree to the new deal) to write those so they can still move on in a few years if need be.

The thing is, what to do, take the cap hit, basically rebuild around the current core of players under contract. Or suffer through a few more years, and fix the issues around these players. Such as the OL and DT.

It may depend upon success in the playoffs as well. Another turd game like Washington, can you imagine. Play like the Vikings game, is it fools gold or for real.

I still think Zeke can contribute with a better OL and a better game plan, as getting rid of Moore (but it is not all his fault either)
Dak I am very down on. I really do not know how to go yet, will see how the playoffs go. But I simply can't trust him right now. Better top OL would help, he can't do it on his own.
DLaw, I never really been a big fan, but how and when do you replace him also, he is not horrible, but he is not a huge take over the game difference maker either.

if we lose this game in a fashion that sits badly with Jerry his gig is over in Dallas.

If Dallas loses at Tampa. I bet Jerry gives Sean Payton a call to get a feel if he is interested. If he is, then MM gets the boot. If not, then MM will be back. The only way I see Jerry firing MM is to bring in Payton

I just can’t imagine firing MM after consecutive 12 win playoff seasons . Regardless who’s available.

Remember Jethro has to be comfortable. And most HC like Payton don’t won’t the meddling owner Jethro presents.

I’d love to have Sean but can’t see him lowering his standards for the Cowboys and Jone$.

I’m not sure why we think Payton would choose our situation with Jethro over normal venues with total control?

Sean Payton has worked for Jerry Jones before ...... If he comes here it's not to win Championships ..... It's to get paid.

Anything is possible but I just can’t see him firing MM after our first consecutive playoff appearances in 15 years . And back to back 12 win seasons .

Legitimate coaches aren’t going to be attracted to a situation where 12 wins isn’t enough to keep your job. I’m not sure fans are thinking this thru clearly.
