We have little knowledge of McC’s relationship behind the scenes with Booger, which is a critical part of the job.

Booger needs space to move among his team and 0 competition for the camera, mic or attention and McC could not have played this any better. He does the bare minimum and league required interviews.

Payton never even considered coaching for Dallas because he wants at least the same control Parcells had and that is never happening again with this team as long as Booger walks among us.

Rule #1 applies with working for Booger, keep the boss happy and McC knew how to do that coming in because Garrett told him how to do that beginning with the interview.
Payton wants full player personal power, which if you like what McClay etc have been doing isn't an ideal condition for anyone.

I still say Jerry will give him the full length of his contract and just not resign him if this goes south. Much like Garrett after his 25th year, or at least it seemed that long. So doubt he will be fired.
I agree; the last thing Jones & Jones want go through is another coaching change so soon.
McCarthy gets the full run of his contract to get the Cowboys to the top.

Should Big Mike's job on the line, in my humble opinion no. But I do think Jerry is even more desperate and less patient to win another Super Bowl. I guess what I am saying is it's Jerry, so throw all conventual wisdom out of the window. Who the heck knows what he will do if Dallas not only gets beat but gets embarrassed on Monday. The problem though is the GM and Jerry will never admit that. So, someone will have to be the scapegoat or Jerry will do his "Jerry Speak" and put a spin on it.

Lol..I reread what I wrote, and it seems to go in circles, so mission accomplished. No one really knows what Jerry will do.

It’s hard enough trying to find a proven HC to come into this dysfunctional organization. You basically are left with those whose phone isn’t ringing elsewhere.

But if Jethro starts firing back to back 12 game winning playoff coaches then the list will become even smaller.

His biggest regret in coaching moves this era already is firing Gailey after back to back playoff appearances cause he finished 8-8. He’s not going to do it again. I guarantee it.

Especially not after 12 win playoff seasons. One in which you lost your starting QB and most thought the season was over. I’d argue this has been MM best coaching season here.

I understand fans frustration if we are one and done again but there’s too much to build on here. We just need to try to win division again so we get a home field playoff game .

And making it to 3 playoff seasons could be the first time since 90’s . The more often you get in the more likely to finally break thru. But ultimately our talent has to be enough.
I agree with you.
Jerry's culture through, places a glass ceiling on this team.
It would amazing if we ever make it to the SB with him as GM.
