McCarthy: Aikman's comments don't carry any weight with me

Very odd MM responds in this way when his offense is clearly struggling to move the ball and score points. Troy pointed out one thing........... not everything. Hope MM enjoys his final 3 months on the sideline.

Who cares? I doubt MM gets another HC job after this season. Enjoy your barn.
I can’t think of any head coach in the NFL that’s been fired twice that got a third head coaching opportunity.

McCarthy knows if things don't turn around fast he probably doesn't have a head coaching gig here or anywhere else. With that said, when legends start calling out your team I don't know how you would expect a coach to respond.

He's definitely coming off defensive here and probably sick of the external noise. However, how the Cowboys have performed is definitely largely on coaching and needs to fix it before this team completely checks out on him.

It is funny that Troy waits for the team to be in the gutter to say anything, why didn't he say something before??

Jack Del Rio? Norv Turner? Ron Rivera? Not sure.
Norv Turner did get three head coaching opportunities with Washington, Oakland, and San Diego. Jack del Rio got two head coaching opportunities with Jacksonville and Oakland. Ron Rivera got two head coaching opportunities with Carolina and Washington.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on Troy Aikman's comments: "They don't carry any weight with me, because I watch all the tape, I get to go to the meetings, I'm at practice, I'm part of the games. So I have a clear understanding of what and where. Troy's statement in particular, I don't agree with the word selection. There is definitely need for improvement in every position, not just one position that he commented on."

I’ve just added Troy Aikman to the Dallas Cowboys haters list. Put that in your notes good sir

Troy way over-defends Dak because he's invested by years of trying to make a case that Dak is an upper tier QB.

Dak isn't, and Troy isn't going to admit he's dead wrong despite irrefutable proof.

What I see is a complete lack of trust between QB and receivers. Cooper complained. CeeDee complains. The body language is palpable.

Parcells was head coach with the Giants, Patriots, Cowboys, and Jets. He turned down several other head coaching opportunities.

PS. Zimmer ain't no Parcells.

Killing the messenger isn’t a solution to host of problems plaguing this team.

I wish MM would just shut up and get to work and prove your value on the field.

This team is in their heads and it starts with their narcissist owner and trickles down from there

Mike "I'll be better" McCarthy. Knows he's gone, doesn't care.
Yup. He got his bag and his family is set. Good for him. He sold Jerry with SB talk at the sleepover.

I do think he did a decent job here considering the circumstances but there are too many younger, brighter minds in todays NFL for him to compete at the highest level.

The usual 4-5 people here may object, but I’m not so sure how much more evidence anyone needs beyond what Shanahan and LaFluer did to him in the playoffs the past three years.

Yeah sure, they MADE the playoffs but largely thanks to Washington and NY not being able to get out of their own way. That’s half over, and so is Mikes reign. Now it’s time to be a scapegoat for the real problem.
