Good work!

This is definitely McCarthys team now with 75% under his watch. Let’s see what he can do with it. Ultimately there’s only one measurement.

Building a sound structure isn’t enough. The results must come in.
He doesn’t have anything to do with personnel.

See the TLance trade.

It’s all Stephen and WMcClay.

After the TLance trade, it appears that Big Mike has little to do with player acquisitions.

They didn’t even tell him.
Not an element of truth there. His view and knowlege of directions was fully involved with the player acquisition. Player desires has been hashed over the past three seasons with Coach McCarthy, who has already stated what his desires and players wanted and the player acquired already matched team scheme and job descriptions. Short window for a potential game change in quality.

One wants a GM to pull the trigger on potential going onto the field.

Just not functionally true and not much more than drama filled Tom Brady like bias...and a Raida'. Wait, isn't that an Owner/Gm formed team?

You a Raider fan?

Bro..they didn’t even bother calling Big Mike about the trade.

Dak found out from the press.

Stephen and McClay have this thing locked down.

They could care less what Big Mike thinks.

At least he gets to call plays this season.

He’s had a death grip on that play sheet since 2020.

You didn't even bother to listen to construction of mission and procedure. All isn't about communication up. Responsibility rests at the top, not the bottom, but what was done above is similar to the view shouted left and right on maintaining roles of leadership, the element of mission accomplishment, not fan satisfaction to just complain. Get in a conversation with WhyJerry...you can nod heads with him. I don't do that in my views. Sorry...

I think it’s a good look inside the organization on how personnel decisions are made.

Big Mike doesn’t have a seat at the decision table.
Besides this example do you have any others ?

Cause it goes against what we’ve heard in that MM does have a voice and input at the table .

Right

Even Parcells said “ you have to convince Jerry to go against his instincts “.

yup.. there’s finally a legit plan in place. Hard to credit Jerry, Stephen and McClay when they previously had no plan at all. You look at the talent and competition at every level here, they didn’t just suddenly figure things out. Historically Jerry’s instincts have been so bad it just made more sense to do the complete opposite!

4. Linebacker is fine, but could use some help

Linebacker isn't as thin as it's perceived given Dan Quinn can convert some safeties to play the position. A safety by trade, Markquese Bell is expected to fill DeMarvion Overshown's role as an off-ball linebacker, while Donovan Wilson and Jayron Kearse are plenty adept at dropping inside the box.

Still, Leighton Vander Esch, Damone Clark and Devin Harper are the only out-and-out LBs on the roster. Harper becoming the player many expected Jabril Cox would be would quell concerns about the position's depth, but he has zero regular season experience, and waived veteran Malik Jefferson could join the active roster if he's re-signed to the practice squad.

Overshown's injury really stings, which leads us to believe the Cowboys could look to add another veteran this week. Cory Littleton, Deion Jones, and Nicholas Morrow are some players available on waivers worth looking at.

3. Three undrafted rookies make the 53

T.J. Bass, Hunter Luepke and Brandon Aubrey

2. Going short on the offensive line was smart

The Cowboys only kept 8 offensive linemen on their initial roster: Tyron Smith, Tyler Smith, Tyler Biadasz, Zack Martin, Terence Steele, Asim Richards, T.J. Bass and Matt Waletzko.

1. Micah Parsons saved 2021 draft class from disaster

It was reported leading up to Tuesday's deadline that the Cowboys could ransack their 2021 draft class and that's exactly what happened.

Just figure...all this happened with NO communication or planning!!:muttley:

I’ll put it another way. This team cannot go back in time to win some other Super Bowls between 1996 - 2022. They can only move forward. They’ve put themselves in position to compete, which is all you can ask at this time of the year. I will stand behind that statement for eternity.
This time I like the way you put it. I'm not looking for a fight.

I still say that discussing past playoff failures or future playoff prospects in August is pointless. If the team has a competitive product on the field, that is what matters in August. My frustration is with those who don't even want to give any credit for the players, coaches and front office putting together a good team THIS YEAR, because they are so fixated on past failures.

The road to success is built on many failures - bad draft picks, poor decisions, bad execution, etc. Success is always built upon failure. Even the very best coaches and players in history lost more championship opportunities than they won - with the possible exception of Bill Russell (but I wonder how many championships he lost in college, high school, middle school, etc.).

Those who will not take their focus off of past failures are doomed to be perpetual losers - because they are too afraid to lose to even try to win. So, my mindset is ALWAYS to acknowledge the past, but look forward with optimism for the future. Hence I have little patience with doom and gloom individuals on this forum, or any forum for any other topic. Gratitude and hope are the foundation of happiness. Blame, and fear of the future are the foundation of misery. I choose happiness, not misery.
