He doesn't have to say the door is open for his return. He can just say it was a tough decision and leave it at that.
yeah but the problem is mike and the jones boys probably do want him back at the price they offered.
elliot could still be back if no other team offers him a deal he likes.

I go back and forth about Zeke on veteran minimum salary. When he was healthy the last two years he was a descent RB - not the player he was, no more burst or balance but always seemed to move the pile forward without the ability to breakaway for big gains. He was highly effective short yardage runner, especially at the goal line. He injured his knees two years in a row, having to wear the bulky knee brace and he was terrible. If you could tell me we are getting the Zeke at the start of the year I would resign him as a backup and short yardage runner. But unfortunately I think that Zeke is gone no matter the hype videos that circulate this summer.

That’s irrelevant. You said his number was taken. His number being gone means nothing. In regards to saying he sucks I just don’t get you guys when it comes to Zeke hate. You’d never disrespect Sean Lee like that and he stayed missing games for injury. But for some reason Zeke and Witten get hate because this organization played them past the time to stop.
Because some people that actually watch the game and have any type of critical thinking from watching the games can see he just doesn't have it anymore and at his money restricts Dallas from signing other better players, it was time to move on.....not HATE

I love Witten, but the Cowboys should have never allowed him to come back, he was done two years prior to retiring and Dallas should have moved on from him....not HATE

I loved the Sean Lee pick in the second round but again it was time to move on from him when his skills diminished....not HATE

And the only people that use the term "Hate" as their argument usually have no argument, so they try to label others with this 12 year old term, Haters!...

Considering that Jones isn't exactly considered durable, and Pollard has yet to be featured as a lead back for a full season so we don't know if he will last, I could absolutely see a scenario playing out where Zeke is back in Dallas if the injury bug bites and he hasn't found a team.

Not only that but Jerry said today they needed to do it for the cap. They aren’t going to take his cap hit and then resign him…IMO
