Considering that Jones isn't exactly considered durable, and Pollard has yet to be featured as a lead back for a full season so we don't know if he will last, I could absolutely see a scenario playing out where Zeke is back in Dallas if the injury bug bites and he hasn't found a team.

You’d do it to piss off haters? No one is hating. You overpaid a RB. You had to cut him when production didn’t match $. Before the cut the team set a record fit amount of money paid to 2 RBs. Just business.

Owner Jerry Jones refuses to close the door on the possibility of a Ezekiel Elliott return to the Dallas Cowboys for 2023.

But he says the decision to release the two-time NFL rushing champion, who finished as the team’s third all-time leading rusher and touchdown scorer, after seven years with franchise was the right one for the franchise.

And the Cowboys are better for it on the field and on the salary cap, which proved to be the over riding factor.

“It was all about making the adjustment principally because of the cap because of where we were,” Jones said at the NFL Owner’s Meetings at the Arizona Biltmore. “Love to have him. But again, with what we need to do to make our cap work and what we can do to really, in our mind, improve through scheme or another player, that was worth us saving that money on the cap.”

Personally, I think Mike is just being nice. If he came back that’s strictly a Jerry move. IMO, Cowboys are coming out of this draft with and
if Bijan falls to them I 100 percent believe they will pick him.

I'd love to see that happen, but I doubt that it will. Some team will snatch him up before we get a chance.
